Barracuda has expanded its Partner Success Program for managed service providers and channel partners, adding new marketing, training and portal features across its partner network.

The update includes new demand generation tools, an upgraded partner portal and a broader Barracuda Mastery Program designed to help partners build expertise and improve day-to-day operations.

Barracuda is also preparing a Partner Locator to connect customers with certified partners, raising partner visibility and helping generate sales leads from customers seeking accredited providers.

These changes build on an earlier overhaul of the partner programme, which focused on modernising how Barracuda works with resellers, MSPs and other channel firms that sell and support its cyber security products.

At the centre of the marketing update is a through-channel marketing automation system that will support co-branded campaigns, social media and email syndication, as well as execution services for partners that want ready-made marketing support.

Barracuda is also adding more automation and role-based segmentation to its Partner Portal. The changes include guided workflows to help partners start activities such as co-selling with less manual setup.

Training is another part of the expansion. Barracuda is extending the Barracuda Mastery Program with role-based learning paths, new technical labs and additional sales and technical badges to validate partner skills.

Michelle Hodges, Senior Vice President of Global Channels and Alliances at Barracuda, outlined the rationale for the changes.

"At Barracuda, our partners are at the center of every decision we make, from product innovation to go-to-market execution," said Michelle Hodges, Senior Vice President of Global Channels and Alliances at Barracuda.

"We're creating more opportunities for partners to engage customers, sharpen differentiation and grow their business - and making it easier than ever to do so. These enhancements reflect our ongoing commitment and our belief that partner success drives superior customer outcomes," Hodges said.

Regional leadership framed the programme changes around partner demand for simpler growth paths and better market access, particularly for firms operating in Australia and New Zealand.

"Our partners tell us they want two things: more opportunities and simpler ways to grow their business. These investments help partners build market visibility, strengthen their expertise and engage customers more effectively, while reducing the complexity of marketing and co-selling activities. For partners across Australia and New Zealand, it's about creating practical pathways to growth and delivering stronger outcomes for customers," said Dan McLean, Country Manager, ANZ at Barracuda.

Partner focus

Vendor partner programmes have become a more prominent part of cyber security sales strategies as software providers rely on MSPs and channel firms to reach mid-sized and smaller customers. In that market, training credentials, co-marketing support and easier sales engagement often help partners choose between competing vendors.

Barracuda said the programme changes are intended to make it easier for partners to move from training and activation to customer engagement. It also linked the experience to BarracudaONE, its cyber resilience platform, saying partners will have a more connected path across enablement, marketing and engagement activities.

One partner cited training and recognition as practical differentiators in a crowded market.

"Barracuda's expanded training, certifications and partner recognition programs give us the tools to build expertise and stand out in a crowded market," said Sean Furman, President at STF Consulting.

"These investments elevate our credibility as a strategic advisor and translate directly into greater customer value, stronger retention and new opportunities to grow high-margin recurring revenue," Furman said.
