The Ultimate Guide to Converged Infrastructure
2024 edition
Overview

Put simply, converged infrastructure combines several previously separate or distinct functions into a single unit. Typically applied to networking, server, and storage – previously separate ‘boxes’ – a converged infrastructure device will offer all three in one device. Unsurprisingly, converged infrastructure can also include software; hyper-converged infrastructure combines those hardware eleemnts with virtualisation of the compute (hypervisor) storage and networking.
