Security Exhibition 2025 returns to explore risks and resilience

Fri, 4th Jul 2025

The Security Exhibition & Conference, Australia's most established trade event for the security industry, will return to ICC Sydney from 27 to 29 August 2025, showcasing the latest innovations in security technologies and offering a platform for professionals to connect, learn and collaborate.

Billed as the nation's leading event for the full spectrum of security suppliers, end users, and industry professionals, the event features a comprehensive exhibition floor, the long-running Security ASIAL Conference, and exclusive networking opportunities.

The exhibition will be co-located with Integrate, Australia's premier AV trade show, to reflect the growing convergence between AV and security solutions. "The co-location of the Security Exhibition & Conference and Integrate combines Australia's security and AV industries under one roof," organisers said. "This strategic partnership reflects the natural synergy between security and AV integration."

Attendees will be able to explore both show floors and "experience a comprehensive range of technologies," from AI-powered surveillance systems to integrated control and facial recognition solutions.

Across the exhibition floor, visitors will encounter a dynamic range of technologies designed to enhance organisational resilience, these include:

  • Advanced cybersecurity systems
  • Leading CCTV and surveillance equipment
  • Sophisticated access control and alarm solutions
  • Next-generation perimeter protection tools
  • Integrated technologies such as IoT sensors and augmented reality interfaces

Organisers noted that these offerings "are designed to enhance the security and resilience of your organisation, empowering you to mitigate risks and fortify your defences against emerging threats."

The show also provides direct access to the people behind the technology. Visitors can engage with developers, integrators, consultants, and end users in a setting built for professional exchange.

Knowledge and connection

Networking plays a central role across the three-day program, with Networking Drinks and the annual Gala Dinner set to facilitate business conversations and industry collaboration.

The Security ASIAL Conference, running on 27 and 28 August, will provide deeper insight into critical security issues under the 2025 theme: "Security at a Crossroads." For over 35 years, this conference has been a hub for thought leadership and strategic dialogue, especially around new risks and the role of a technologically advanced security sector.

Key sessions include:

  • 'Security in a Multipolar World', a keynote from Peter Jennings, Director of Strategic Analysis Australia, exploring the global influence of leaders like Trump, Putin and Xi Jinping. Jennings will assess their impact on Australia's security landscape and preparedness.
  • 'From Complexity to Clarity', a practical session aimed at helping cybersecurity professionals bridge communication gaps with non-technical stakeholders, using relatable narratives and business-aligned framing.
  • 'Advancing Protective Security Settings', examining how collaboration between government and industry is essential to tackling growing threats such as terrorism, espionage and cyberattacks.

Speakers at the event will include Hamish Hansford, Deputy Secretary for Cyber and Infrastructure Security at the Department of Home Affairs; Lee Hicken, Executive Director of the Australian National AI Centre; Anna Acopian, CEO of Safegate AI; and Assam Victor-Ifeanyi, Security Operations Engineer in the health sector.

Industry state of play

In the lead-up to the event, industry professionals can also attend a free online session titled 'Security Industry State of Play: Australia 2025' on 28 July. This 45-minute discussion will explore:

  • The current state of the market, including workforce challenges, supply chain pressures, and cybersecurity convergence
  • The outlook for Security-as-a-Service, smart cities, and the residential security market
  • Ongoing issues such as data sovereignty, regulatory shifts, and the need for balance between innovation and operational reliability

The panel will feature voices from across the industry: vendors, integrators, consultants, and end users. The goal is to provide "actionable insights for security professionals, helping you understand market trends, prepare for upcoming changes, and identify growth opportunities."

A collaborative platform for the future

The co-location with Integrate allows attendees to "explore how technologies like facial recognition, IoT sensors, augmented reality interfaces, and unified control systems are being deployed across both sectors."

This combined event "serves a broader community of end users, consultants, core security and AV installers, and integrators interested in cross-industry solutions," organisers said.

By creating a shared space for AV and security, the 2025 edition offers a unique opportunity to witness how technology is being integrated to create cohesive, future-ready environments.

"The co-location creates networking opportunities across previously separate industries and showcases how Security and AV technologies can work together in integrated solutions."
