Lookout named Strong Performer in 2022 Gartner Peer Insights

FYI, this story is more than a year old

Gartner has recognised Lookout as a Strong Performer in the 2022 Gartner Peer Insights Voice of the Customer for Security Service Edge (SSE).

Gartner Peer Insights is a reviews and ratings platform for tech end users to provide candid customer feedback and a place for industry decision-makers to learn about a company's products and services.

The Voice of the Customer is a document that turns these reviews into insights for IT decision-makers.

According to Gartner, SSE is a technology that “secures access to the web, cloud services and private applications. Capabilities include access control, threat protection, data security, security monitoring and acceptable use control enforced by network-based and API-based integration.

“SSE is primarily delivered as a cloud-based service and may include on-premises or agent-based components.

Gartner also predicts that 80% of companies seeking to procure SSE-related security services will buy a consolidated SSE offering by 2025 instead of a standalone cloud access security broker, secure web gateway and ZTNA offerings, noting an increase of 15% compared to 2021.

Lookout's Cloud Security Platform protects a company's data, recognising and mitigating threats as well as facilitating secure access to the web, private apps and cloud services deployed in a multi-cloud environment, such as SaaS.

The offering brings together Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB), Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) and Secure Web Gateway (SWG) natively in a single platform.

Lookout says doing this minimises the complexity, costs and number of security vendors and point solutions an IT department has to manage.

Moreover, it provides the agility and scalability to keep pace with evolving, increasingly sophisticated threats.

“To prevent data leakage in this cloud-first, hybrid workforce era, you need an integrated cybersecurity solution that offers advanced capabilities, rapid onboarding and a seamless user experience,” Lookout Cloud Security product and strategy executive vice president Pravin Kothari says.

“There's no stronger validation of our product's capabilities and value than positive customer endorsements.

“Lookout employees are deeply committed to meeting the needs and objectives of our customers, and we're honored to be recognised in the Gartner Peer Insights report.

This Gartner recognition comes after the company recognised Lookout as a Visionary in the 2022 Magic Quadrant for Security Service Edge (SSE) and one of the top three offerings in the 2022 Gartner Critical Capabilities for SSE report.

The placement of Lookout in the Magic Quadrant is based on an evaluation by Gartner of the company's ability to execute and its completeness of vision.

The Gartner Critical Capabilities for SSE is additional to the Gartner Magic Quadrant and comparatively analyses and scores products or services against a set of critical differentiators that every business needs as identified by Gartner.

Among 11 vendors, the Lookout SSE solution earned one of the top three scores for each of the four use cases in the Critical Capabilities report, including secure web and cloud usage, detection and mitigation of threats, connecting and securing remote workers, and identifying and protecting sensitive information.
