Informatica & Microsoft boost AI agent trust with cloud data
Informatica has introduced three new capabilities developed in partnership with Microsoft to support organisations seeking to build and deploy artificial intelligence (AI) agents with trusted data.
The collaboration focuses on integrating Informatica's Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) with Microsoft Foundry, an enterprise-grade AI platform.
AI agent integration
The partnership enables customers to link AI agents constructed through Microsoft Foundry directly to Informatica's cloud data services.
This connection uses the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an industry-standard, allowing AI agents to access Informatica's data governance, quality, and master data management features in near real time. The integration aims to help organisations deploy AI solutions while upholding data compliance and trust.
Krish Vitaldevara, Chief Product Officer at Informatica, said, "Our collaboration with Microsoft brings the best of Microsoft Foundry and enterprise-grade data management together. By integrating our CLAIRE AI engine and IDMC services with Foundry, we help customers build AI agents and applications with confidence, compliance and speed. This is a major leap forward in realising the true promise of AI in the enterprise."
Pre-built solutions
Informatica has developed a library of pre-built GenAI recipes optimised for Microsoft Foundry.
These include agent blueprints and templates for tasks such as loan processing and insurance claims. The recipes facilitate the configuration, management, and deployment of enterprise AI applications, allowing customers to reduce development times while drawing on Informatica's data management framework.
AI engine expansion
The CLAIRE AI engine, Informatica's cognitive metadata platform, now works natively with Microsoft Foundry. CLAIRE enhances tasks such as data integration, quality, and governance by bringing automated reasoning capabilities to all connected services.
The engine is now available within Microsoft Azure in the US and Europe, which gives organisations the option to process sensitive data within regional borders for compliance purposes.
Analytics interoperability
Informatica has introduced support for Microsoft OneLake tables using the Apache Iceberg format, broadening options for customers managing large-scale analytics workflows.
This support allows users to read and write data from unified data sources in their cloud environment, reinforcing interoperability and simplifying access to data spread across platforms.
Customer perspectives
"Our partnership with Informatica helps Dayforce develop a unified, reliable view of our customers - the foundation for providing smarter, more personalized experiences," said Anupama Jha, Vice President of Enterprise Data Governance and Analytics, Dayforce.
"At Dayforce, we are committed to removing data silos and unlocking new levels of speed, accuracy and innovation. With Informatica's Intelligent Data Management Cloud integrated with Microsoft Foundry, we can further enhance our AI capabilities and deliver intelligent experiences at scale - with confidence, compliance, and purpose."
Amanda Silver, CVP Apps and Agents at Microsoft, added, "Enterprises are rapidly adopting agentic AI through Microsoft Foundry. Trusted, governed data is critical to delivering accurate and responsible outcomes. Informatica's deep integration with our platform empowers customers with the data they need to bring AI to life in production."
