Gallagher Security has won Product of the Year - Cybersecurity Product at the Australian Security Industry Awards for Excellence for its Date of Warranty Report.

The feature is part of Gallagher's Command Centre v9.30 release and is designed to give end users and channel partners a clearer view of hardware installed across their sites.

The report lets users check controllers and HBUS devices to identify the age and warranty status of installed hardware. That information is intended to help organisations plan upgrades and identify potential cybersecurity risks linked to older equipment.

Before the feature was introduced, channel partners might have had to check equipment across a site manually, a process that could be time- and labour-intensive, particularly for larger installations.

The award was presented during the 30th anniversary year of the Australian Security Industry Awards for Excellence, a long-running programme for the sector in Australia. Gallagher also supported the awards as Lead Sponsor and sponsored the Outstanding Security Consultant category.

Craig Schutte, Executive Vice President for APAC and IMEA at Gallagher Security, said the recognition reflected work on a practical issue faced by customers and partners.

"We're incredibly proud to see the Date of Warranty Report recognised as Product of the Year - Cybersecurity Product," Schutte said.

"Cybersecurity is an ongoing priority for end users, and clear visibility of hardware across a site is an important part of managing that risk.

"The Date of Warranty Report gives end users and channel partners the information they need to understand what is installed, how current it is, and where upgrades may need to be planned.

"This award is a fantastic acknowledgement of the team behind the feature and our continued focus on delivering practical solutions that make it easier for end users to manage and protect their sites."

Product focus

The Date of Warranty Report focuses on asset visibility within electronic security systems, an area receiving greater attention as operators review the age and support status of connected devices. In practice, knowing when hardware was installed and whether it remains under warranty can shape maintenance schedules, replacement planning, and cybersecurity reviews.

For security integrators and site operators, the challenge often lies in building a consolidated picture of equipment across dispersed locations. A reporting tool that presents lifecycle information in one place can reduce the need for manual, site-by-site checks and provide a clearer record of installed devices.

The reporting function is self-service, allowing end users to access lifecycle information directly rather than relying entirely on manual audits by channel partners. That shift can change how customers manage installed systems, especially where estates include multiple controllers and peripheral devices.

Industry context

The cybersecurity product category highlights the growing overlap between physical security systems and digital risk management. Hardware lifecycle tracking has become a more visible issue for building operators and security teams as connected access control and site management systems remain in service for long periods.

Manufacturers in the sector have increasingly focused on tools that help customers understand what is installed in their environments and whether components are current. Visibility over device age, support, and warranty status can influence decisions on patching, replacement, and broader system resilience.

Gallagher's involvement in the awards extended beyond the product win. The company also backed the event as Lead Sponsor and supported the Outstanding Security Consultant category, which sits within the annual Outstanding Security Performance Awards.

Schutte said that broader industry role also mattered to the company.

"As Lead Sponsor, Gallagher was proud to support this year's awards and celebrate the wider security industry," Schutte said.

"We were especially pleased to sponsor the Outstanding Security Consultant category once again, and our congratulations to Hayley Davidson van Loon for the well-earned achievement.

"Consultants play an incredibly important role across our industry, and it was fantastic to have the opportunity to recognise the expertise and contribution they bring to the security sector."
