Gallagher expands Gold Coast training hub with new hires

Thu, 18th Dec 2025

Gallagher Security has expanded its Australian training operation with two new appointments and a series of digital learning initiatives aimed at technicians and end users across the region.

The security technology provider has hired Tam Rehman as Training Solutions Engineer - Australia and Caitlin Doherty as Training Coordinator - Australia. Both roles sit within the Australian Training Team and are based at the company's Gold Coast office.

The appointments form part of a broader expansion of Gallagher's training activities for customers and channel partners in Australia and Papua New Guinea.

Danielle Mitchell, Training Manager for APAC and IMEA, said the company saw a strong opportunity in structured education for the security sector. "Tam brings nearly a decade of Learning and Development expertise across financial services, property, and not-for-profit sectors. Her experience includes implementing AI-integrated learning tools, transforming onboarding and leadership programmes, and delivering national sales training initiatives," said Danielle.

Rehman will focus on end user learning. She will develop new training modules and extend the content available through resources such as the End User Knowledge Centre.

"I'm excited to collaborate with our customers and partners to build impactful training solutions that empower and enable them every step of the way," said Rehman.

Doherty joins the business with experience in training coordination and operational support. She will manage Australian training queries, logistics, and scheduling.

Gallagher plans more than 175 courses in Australia in the coming year. Doherty will oversee arrangements for these sessions and will work with trainers and customers to maintain delivery schedules.

"I was drawn to Gallagher because of its strong team culture and forward-thinking approach. I'm passionate about creating learning experiences that make a real difference," said Doherty.

Expanded team

Mitchell said the Australian-based Training Team now includes four full-time members. The team delivers more than 170 courses each year and trains over 2,000 customers across Australia and Papua New Guinea.

The expanded group will manage new programmes that focus on role-specific learning. These include separate knowledge centres for technicians and end users, as well as augmented reality content for hardware installers.

Mitchell said the Technician Knowledge Centre had become a core part of the offer for channel partners. "Launched earlier this year, the Technician Knowledge Centre provides technicians with on-demand access to installation guides, troubleshooting resources, and video tutorials, ensuring they have the tools they need to succeed anytime, anywhere," said Danielle.

Digital tools

Gallagher is also working on its second augmented reality training environment. The new release will target access hardware installers.

The platform uses a virtual environment that simulates field conditions. Learners can carry out installation tasks, repeat procedures, and review errors without physical equipment.

The company is also rebuilding its End User Knowledge Centre. The project includes updates to more than 80 existing videos so they match current software versions.

Mitchell said the team planned more than 30 new videos for the platform. The content will present short, task-based guidance for common system functions.

"The End User Knowledge Centre is undergoing a major refurbishment, with more than 80 existing videos being updated to reflect the latest software versions and over 30 new videos being added. This refresh ensures customers have access to accurate, engaging, and easy-to-follow content," said Danielle.

Gold Coast hub

Gallagher has backed the expansion with a dedicated training room at its Gold Coast office. The facility supports instructor-led sessions and hybrid formats.

The room accommodates eight attendees for in-person courses. Trainers can also run remote sessions from the same space using digital materials and live demonstrations.

"Our dedicated training space supports the learning experience through in-person connection with our training team, as well as the wider Gallagher Security leadership team based at our Gold Coast office," said Danielle.

Mitchell said the company would continue to add new formats and content as customer demand develops. "We're expanding on our award-winning training initiatives to meet evolving customer needs and the growing demand for accessible, high-impact security education.

"We know there's an exceptional need for the right training, education, and upskilling in the wider security industry, and our initiatives transform how knowledge is delivered, applied, and sustained across the industry," said Mitchell.
