emt distribution signs ANZ partnership deal with BlackBerry

Fri, 3rd Jun 2022
FYI, this story is more than a year old

emt Distribution has partnered with BlackBerry for an Australia and New Zealand distribution agreement.

The new agreement will give more organisations and resellers across the region access to BlackBerry's AI-driven cybersecurity solutions and managed (XDR) services.

The partnership will bring together emt's network of channel partners, MSPs and MSSPs and BlackBerrys suite of cybersecurity solutions powered by Cylance AI.

emt will offer the full BlackBerry Cyber Suite as part of the agreement, with products including CylancePROTECT, CylanceOPTICS and CylanceGUARD.

Technical engineers from the company will also be trained and certified by BlackBerry, allowing the distributor to deliver specialised support across the region. emt also says having BlackBerry's suite of AI-enabled cybersecurity tools on a subscription-based model will save time and resources for businesses without significant in-house security teams.

emt Distribution, a rhipe company's senior sales manager Shane Mahney says partners of all types will find the new security suite useful, and the technology can help enhance their cybersecurity businesses.

"BlackBerry's intelligent cybersecurity solutions and services can address the multi-layer needs of large companies and easy-to-manage cybersecurity for small and medium enterprises," he says.

"Partners like VARs, MSPs, MSSPs and SIs can grow their advanced cybersecurity businesses and services revenues, helping organisations save valuable time and resources."

An increase in cyber threats against data, end-points and infrastructure has prompted a change in the way companies think about security, according to emt Distribution group executive Richard Rundle. He says the new offering will help take on these challenges and stay ahead of the curve.

"By expanding our offering with BlackBerrys intelligent, AI-powered solutions and external security teams, we can further help customers of any size improve their security posture with a prevention-first approach," he says.

A new focus on increased threat prevention is prompted by BlackBerry's 2022 Threat Report, which showed that malicious cyber actors are increasingly employing ransomware-as-a-service (RaaS) and malware-as-a-service (MaaS) tools to execute high-impact attacks.

While no organisation is immune to a cybersecurity breach, the research says SMEs are facing upwards of 11 to 13 cyber-attacks per device per day, higher than larger enterprises.

"By leveraging BlackBerrys seventh generation AI engine and on-demand cybersecurity experts, organisations can both prevent threats and address IT security skills gaps so they can get on with running their business," says BlackBerry director, channel partner and Alliances for APAC Graeme Pyper.

"We are excited to announce BlackBerry is expanding our distribution network in Australia and New Zealand with emt Distribution."
