Dragos expands executive team amid cybersecurity market growth

Today

Dragos has announced the appointment of three new executive team members to support its business growth in the cybersecurity industry.

Mark Matheos has joined the company as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), while Mark Packham has been appointed as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), and Darren Sankbeil, previously the CFO, will now serve as Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). These appointments aim to bring public company expertise and to bolster Dragos's go-to-market strategy amid rising demand for cybersecurity solutions targeting Operational Technology (OT) and Cyber Physical Systems (CPS).

"These appointments not only strengthen our leadership capacity in critical areas but also reinforce our commitment to our customers as we drive company growth," said Robert M. Lee, CEO and Co-Founder of Dragos. "Our customers are at the heart of our mission and our growth strategy is focused on expanding our ability to serve them as cyber threats to OT continue to accelerate. Mark Matheos, Mark Packham, and Darren Sankbeil bring invaluable leadership and industry experience to their roles, but what truly inspires me is their passion for our mission. Together, we will continue to provide our customers with industry leadership and the most effective OT cybersecurity technology as we reach the next milestones on our company roadmap."

Mark Matheos comes to Dragos with a strong background in finance and accounting, having previously served at Appian, where he played a significant role in expanding the company's employee base from 500 to over 2,000 and led its successful initial public offering (IPO). "Dragos is in an exciting, fast-growing market, has an undeniably strong company culture, and most importantly, a mission so clearly important that I am honoured to be a part of it," Matheos said. "Building out a company's financial strategy for the growth and scale needed to reach its next phase is my wheelhouse, and I am excited for what's to come."

Mark Packham, the new CMO, brings over 25 years of experience in marketing and leadership. His most recent role was at DigiCert, where as Executive Vice President of Marketing, he directed the company's global marketing initiatives and solidified DigiCert's position as a leader in Digital Trust. "Dragos is an influential leader in cybersecurity, driven by a mission that inspires us every day," Packham stated. "I look forward to leading the growth of our brand and our influence across global markets and diverse industrial sectors. Our focus on innovation and meaningful customer and partner engagement will be key as we continue to set the standard for industrial and critical infrastructure cybersecurity."

Darren Sankbeil, transitioning into the role of CSO, is tasked with consistently defining strategy across the organisation, developing new market opportunities, managing future acquisitions, and maintaining important relationships. As CFO, Sankbeil oversaw substantial investment rounds, including USD $110 million in Series C funding and USD $200 million in Series D, alongside a USD $74 million Series D extension. "I'm excited to step into this new role and have the opportunity to help shape the company's future by bringing Dragos's industry-leading solutions to strategic new markets and organisations around the globe," Sankbeil said. "We have a tremendous opportunity ahead of us and I'm looking forward to creating new ways to bring value to our customers and protect their most critical assets."

Dragos is known for providing cybersecurity technology for industrial and critical infrastructure needs, delivering solutions that address the unique challenges of protecting OT environments. The company operates globally with offices in North America, EMEA, and APAC.
