Check Point appoints David Caspari to lead Australia & New Zealand

Tue, 2nd Sep 2025

Check Point Software Technologies has named David Caspari as its new Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand.

Caspari will oversee Check Point's business in the region, focusing on expanding customer and partner engagement and advancing the company's security strategy, which places prevention and artificial intelligence at the centre.

With more than 20 years of experience in technology leadership in Australia and New Zealand, Caspari's previous roles encompass senior leadership at Cisco Systems, HP Enterprise, and Optus. He has worked with a range of enterprise and government clients, supporting digital transformation initiatives, fortifying critical infrastructure, modernising legacy environments, and managing complex technology services.

Caspari is known for building relationships at board and executive level, bringing what is described as a customer-first approach and a history of delivering operational outcomes in complex circumstances. His experience also covers cyber governance, incident response, and enterprise risk management, as well as overseeing transformations in software-as-a-service businesses.

Most recently, Caspari led Janison, a SaaS and services provider, as Chief Executive Officer. In that position, he guided the company's shift into an international platform, worked on adoption of artificial intelligence technology, developed new government partnerships globally, and managed strategic acquisitions and integrations to expand the organisation's capabilities. Janison's recognition within Australia's Best Places to Work came during his tenure.

Ruma Balasubramanian, President of Asia Pacific & Japan at Check Point Software Technologies, said the company is aiming to deliver growth in the region through its platform approach and focus on AI-driven solutions.

"We are excited to welcome David to Check Point at a pivotal moment for the ANZ market. At Check Point, we lead change around four core principles: securing the connectivity fabric, embedding prevention-first at the heart of defence, investing in an open platform, and embracing AI-first security. David's experience in delivering trusted customer outcomes, scaling businesses, and organisational transformation makes him ideally placed to help ANZ organisations adopt these principles with confidence."

In his new role, Caspari is expected to further Check Point's efforts to support organisations dealing with cyber risks, regulation, cloud adoption, and increasingly complex security environments.

He commented on the appointment, stating his perspective on the evolving cyber security landscape and Check Point's direction.

"What excites me about joining Check Point is the opportunity ahead. The company that pioneered prevention-first security, backed by world-class R&D and innovation is now reshaping the industry for the future. With new threat surfaces, AI, regulatory pressure, and rising customer complexity, the need for trusted partners has never been more critical. I am inspired by the clear platform strategy, bold mergers and acquisitions, and leadership in AI. The opportunity now is to help lead this next chapter, working with our customers, partners, and teams to turn a trusted leader into a fast-moving growth engine for cyber resilience in ANZ."

Check Point's regional business will operate under Caspari's leadership with an emphasis on customer engagement, security efficacy, and adapting to the needs of enterprises and service providers as cybersecurity challenges continue to develop.
