Businesses to increase cloud use by 85% in next five years

Fri, 21st Jun 2024

In a joint research paper titled "Alleviating Cloud Migration Difficulties with Robust Hybrid-Cloud and Container Security," Kaspersky and ISG have found that approximately 85% of surveyed organisations intend to scale up their use of cloud services over the next five years. This reflects a growing trend among businesses to adopt cloud platforms, alongside a significant increase in the adoption of containerized development models. The study revealed that nearly 81% of respondents noted improvements in resource efficiency due to containerisation, while about 70% stated that containers facilitate seamless integration with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices.

In response to these evolving needs, Kaspersky has launched its Kaspersky Cloud Workload Security ecosystem, which consists of two products: Kaspersky Hybrid Cloud Security and Kaspersky Container Security. The solution is designed to address security risks in cloud workloads, with multi-layered threat protection that proactively defends against a wide range of cyber threats, including malware, phishing, and rogue containers during runtime. The ecosystem integrates seamlessly with other Kaspersky solutions, ensuring comprehensive cybersecurity coverage.

The increasing adoption of hybrid cloud environments and containerized development models necessitates robust security solutions that can protect every process within complex infrastructures. Kaspersky's new security ecosystem provides out-of-the-box security that is cost-efficient and customizable, allowing customers to select the capabilities needed to protect their workloads, whether physical, virtualized, or containerized, regardless of deployment location (private, public, or hybrid clouds). Additionally, the ecosystem supports ongoing regulatory compliance for cloud infrastructures.

One of the key benefits of Kaspersky Cloud Workload Security is its ability to perform faster and more efficient security checks, automating information security compliance checks and predicting time-to-market for products. Internal tests by Kaspersky have shown that the ecosystem's technology can save up to 30% of virtualization hardware resources when protecting private clouds, optimizing performance without degrading cluster performance.

"At Kaspersky, we recognize the critical importance of securing cloud workloads in today's dynamic threat landscape. With the introduction of Kaspersky Cloud Workload Security, we are proud to deliver a solution that offers unparalleled protection and performance for our valued customers. By providing a comprehensive and cost-effective solution, we aim at empowering organisations to fortify their cloud security posture, safeguard critical assets, and maintain regulatory compliance effortlessly," remarked Timofey Titkov, Head of Cloud & Network Security Product Line at Kaspersky.

The introduction of Kaspersky Cloud Workload Security ecosystem represents a significant step in addressing the cybersecurity challenges faced by businesses in an era marked by escalating cyber threats and rapid digitalisation.
