Zscaler named leader by Gartner & IDC for cloud security
Zscaler has been positioned in the Leaders quadrant of the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Security Service Edge (SSE) for the fourth consecutive year.
According to Gartner's report, Zscaler was placed highest for Ability to Execute among all evaluated vendors. This distinction is based on the company's continued performance within the SSE market, which supports secure, identity- and policy-driven access to internet resources, SaaS platforms, and private applications.
The Gartner report identifies several market drivers for SSE adoption, including the replacement of traditional VPN solutions, the increasing popularity of Zero Trust networking, and the growing need for security within SaaS and GenAI environments. Gartner estimates that SaaS is currently the largest generator of cloud revenue and forecasts 15% compound annual growth for the sector through 2028.
Zscaler has developed its SSE platform using insights from over 15 years in cybersecurity and feedback from thousands of CIOs and CISOs. Its Zero Trust Everywhere approach aims to broaden the scope of SSE beyond just user access, offering what the company describes as a unified cloud-native SSE platform to secure enterprises at large.
Jay Chaudhry, Chief Executive Officer, Chairman, and Founder of Zscaler, commented on the recognition: "We're proud to see Gartner recognize Zscaler's position in the Leaders quadrant, reinforcing our mission to help organisations unlock the full potential of their information while driving business performance. Being named a Leader in the Magic Quadrant for SSE is a testament to our commitment to delivering a comprehensive, industry-leading SSE platform that safeguards enterprises against today's rapidly evolving and complex threat landscape. My vision is to extend Zero Trust Everywhere– to users, to branches, to workloads, and IoT/OT devices."
Andreas Hartl, Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific & Japan at Zscaler, also highlighted the company's direction: "This recognition underscores our focus on providing customers with a secure cloud advantage. Whether addressing regulatory complexity, ensuring business continuity against escalating risks, or proactively countering AI-driven threats, Zscaler's Zero Trust Exchange platform empowers organisations to adapt with confidence. By reducing hardware dependencies, optimising operational costs, and embedding intelligent AI-driven protections, we enable our customers to achieve resilience and drive innovation in competitive global markets."
In a separate assessment, Zscaler has also been named a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Data Loss Prevention (DLP) 2025 Vendor Assessment. IDC MarketScape evaluated Zscaler's DLP capabilities through its Zero Trust Exchange platform, with a focus on providing cloud-first solutions to help enterprises mitigate data breaches and accidental exposure risks, ensure compliance with data sovereignty regulations, and deliver resiliency for hybrid workforces.
The IDC MarketScape cited Zscaler's market foundation in Zero Trust for its sizeable customer base and consolidated data security experience. Customer feedback highlighted the speed and depth of Zscaler's customer service and the interoperability of its portfolio products.
"Being named a Leader in the IDC MarketScape for Data Loss Prevention validates Zscaler's focus on enabling secure cloud transformation while addressing critical business needs like data residency, resilience, and regulatory compliance," said Andreas Hartl. "Our Zero Trust Exchange platform eliminates the complexity of securing sensitive data across jurisdictions, helping organisations navigate evolving cloud threats such as AI-driven attacks, undersea cable interruptions, and public cloud outages. With innovative features, AI guardrails, and streamlined failover mechanisms, Zscaler empowers customers to confidently adapt to the demands of today's digital economy while reinforcing trust with partners and end-users."
Zscaler's recognitions in both the Gartner Magic Quadrant and IDC MarketScape reflect industry validation of its approach to cloud-driven security and data protection, as enterprises continue to invest in strategies that address emerging digital threats and regulatory expectations.
