Varonis unveils enhanced Salesforce Security Posture Management

Varonis has announced new capabilities in its Salesforce Security Posture Management (SSPM) solution aimed at helping customers identify and eliminate data security risks automatically. It includes the addition of four new remediation features to Varonis' library of automations for data security.

The company explained that its approach goes beyond merely identifying problems by providing solutions that address sensitive data risks at scale through automation. Varonis offers real-time insights into Salesforce data security posture, ensuring that only authorized individuals can access sensitive information. The focus is on identifying misconfigurations, excessive permissions, and suspicious activities that pose a risk to data security.

The introduction of these new features aims to assist organizations in preventing unauthorized access and data exfiltration. Specifically, the new capabilities include:

Preventing Data Theft

The system can now prevent users from exfiltrating sensitive data by identifying and stopping those who attempt to access critical information improperly. Overexposed permissions and misconfigurations are flagged and addressed to secure the data environment.

Eliminating Non-Expiring Passwords

Varonis identifies users with non-expiring passwords, which pose a security risk and could violate compliance requirements. Organizations can take action based on the automated insights provided.

Controlling API Access

Secure control over third-party API connections is another focus area. The tool prevents unauthorized users from granting access to Salesforce organizations via API integrations, mitigating the risk of data breaches through unsecured connections.
