UiPath launches next-generation automation platform in Australia

Today

UiPath has introduced its next-generation enterprise automation platform in Australia, aiming to address common challenges faced by organisations adopting artificial intelligence at scale.

The new UiPath Platform for agentic automation unites AI agents, robots, and people on a single system, allowing for streamlined workflows and process optimisation in complex business environments.

Australian businesses, according to UiPath, have encountered barriers to deploying enterprise AI, such as security and compliance risks, reliability issues, halted pilot programmes, and concerns over becoming dependent on one vendor.

The company's updated platform is designed to mitigate these concerns, building on its automation expertise with a new agentic architecture tailored for business-critical workflows.

Platform capabilities

At recent events in Sydney and Melbourne, UiPath demonstrated several upgrades to its platform, including the introduction of UiPath Maestro.

This orchestration tool acts as a central layer - automating, modelling, and optimising business processes from start to finish.

Maestro features process intelligence and key performance indicator tracking to aid in continuous improvement, while ensuring AI agents can be managed and scaled safely across organisations.

The platform uses a controlled agency model to define operational guardrails for AI agents.

Security, predictability, and performance are emphasised, with integrated governance, real-time vulnerability analysis, and strict data controls. UiPath states these features are aimed at protecting enterprise environments from potential threats as automation solutions are scaled.

For developers, UiPath offers both low-code and advanced tools, enabling a wide range of users - from business technologists to software engineers—to design and prototype AI-driven solutions.

The inclusion of UiPath Agent Builder within the company's Studio environment allows for flexible development and adaptation of automations to suit diverse requirements and changing business needs.

The platform's open, multi-agent approach allows integration with third-party frameworks such as LangChain, Anthropic, and Microsoft, supporting complex workflows across departments.

A key development is its collaboration with Google Cloud to introduce the Agent2Agent (A2A) protocol. This protocol will enable secure communication and coordination between AI agents operating on different enterprise systems or applications, with the goal of supporting flexible and future-proofed automation strategies.

UiPath has also invested in large-scale document processing with its Intelligent Xtraction & Processing (IXP) solution.

IXP deploys AI-based methods to classify and extract information from unstructured data, helping address challenges in industries such as insurance, finance, and healthcare, with use cases including claims adjudication and loan origination.

The platform preview includes UI Agent for computer use - a natural language-powered agent able to interpret intent, plan and execute multi-step tasks across interfaces autonomously. This feature is currently in private preview as part of the latest platform release.

Uptake and use cases

Since the private preview began in January 2025, UiPath reports the creation of thousands of semi-autonomous and autonomous agents, with more than 75,000 agent runs. Over 450 partners have engaged in agentic automation training, and hundreds of customer scenarios are now in operation using the updated platform.

"With the next-generation UiPath platform, we're helping Australian organisations tap into the combined power of AI agents, automation, and people to work smarter – not harder. It's a step change that enables teams to move faster, reduce complexity, and focus on work that truly drives value to their business," said Peter Graves, Area Vice President, ANZ at UiPath.

Benjamin Lingard, Managing Director of Ashling Partners Australia, highlighted the market's response and future outlook for agentic automation.

"Australia continues to be a strategic hub for technological innovation and agentic automation is the new cloud technology. The fact that Australian companies are already embracing agentic automation demonstrates a clear opportunity for local organisations to improve efficiencies, enhance customer and employee engagement, and ultimately boost productivity.
As UiPath Worldwide AI and Automation Growth Partner of the Year 2024 & Fast Track Agentic Partner, we are proud to have been delivering outstanding technology solutions with UiPath for more than eight years. Our growing team of specialised local experts is already seeing solid results for the early adopters of this new phase, so the future potential of agentic automation looks promising in this market."

The deployment of the next-generation UiPath platform is intended to help organisations across Australia address barriers to AI adoption, including compliance, security, and adaptability, with a view to future expansion into more sophisticated and collaborative automation projects.
