TrendAI has integrated NVIDIA Nemotron open models into its Vision One platform for sovereign and private cloud environments in Australia and New Zealand, targeting organisations that need security operations to remain within customer-controlled infrastructure.

The integration is aimed at businesses and public sector bodies in regulated sectors or those handling sensitive information. It allows customers to use AI-assisted threat detection and security operations while keeping security data within designated environments.

Under the setup, organisations can run the models in their own data centres, sovereign clouds and restricted-connectivity environments. Customers can choose where the model runs, which version is deployed and who can access it.

The announcement comes as data sovereignty becomes a bigger issue for organisations assessing AI tools for cyber security and operations. Businesses in Australia and New Zealand, particularly in government, finance, healthcare and critical infrastructure, are under growing pressure to keep sensitive data under local control.

The integration adds guided investigation, security reasoning and agentic security information and event management to Vision One for Sovereign and Private Cloud. TrendAI said its collaboration with NVIDIA on OpenShell is intended to give organisations control and visibility over agentic activities.

It also drew a contrast with US-based providers that may be subject to the US CLOUD Act. The law has raised concerns among some customers about the reach of foreign authorities over data stored or processed by service providers with US links, even when systems are located elsewhere.

Sovereignty focus

Rachel Jin, Chief Executive Officer of TrendAI, said the issue goes beyond the physical location of data.

"Sovereignty extends beyond where data resides. Enterprises also need control over where the intelligence acting on that data operates, and how it is governed. Organisations shouldn't have to give up the operational benefits of AI because their security data and operations need to remain within a customer-controlled environment. Our work is about bringing AI-powered security operations to the environments our customers choose to control," said Jin.

NVIDIA said open models give customers more control over how AI is deployed in sensitive settings. It described the TrendAI integration as a way for enterprises to apply AI to security workflows without sending sensitive data outside their chosen environments.

"Open models give organisations the transparency and control to run on their own terms, which is critical for sovereign environments. TrendAI's integration of NVIDIA Nemotron models enables enterprises to put their most sensitive data to work, without it ever leaving their control," said John Fanelli, Vice President, Enterprise Software, NVIDIA.

According to TrendAI, the product supports several functions. These include AI-assisted threat analysis across security signals to identify attack chains and AI-native attack paths, policy-based threat response using organisation-defined controls, guided security operations to help teams prioritise investigations, and agentic SIEM functions for telemetry correlation and security reasoning with human oversight.

Bechtle highlighted customer demand for AI deployments that do not weaken security or control. The systems integrator said security considerations must be built into AI infrastructure from the outset.

"As enterprises apply AI to real-world deployment, security and control must be embedded into the infrastructure from day one. Our customers want to harness the full potential of AI without compromising data sovereignty, security, or operational control. Integrating AI-powered security into sovereign and private-cloud environments is an important step toward enabling secure AI adoption at scale, particularly for organisations with stringent security and compliance requirements," said Schick.

TrendAI is the enterprise business unit of Trend Micro. Vision One for Sovereign and Private Cloud with the NVIDIA Nemotron integration is now available.
