Tecala gains Microsoft security status, expands ISO
Tecala has secured a Microsoft Solutions Partner Designation for Security and completed an ISO 27001:2022 surveillance audit that expands its certification scope to include its Automation, Data and AI division.
The company said the Microsoft designation recognises partners that meet Microsoft's requirements around technical competence and delivery of Microsoft security solutions. Tecala said it completed assessment work that covered identity and access management, threat detection, security operations, endpoint management and cloud security.
Tecala also said it has completed an ISO 27001:2022 surveillance audit with an expanded scope. The scope now covers "IT Managed & Integration Services, provided on Public and Private Cloud". It now also fully incorporates Tecala's Automation, Data and AI division, which the company refers to as ADA.
Microsoft designation
Microsoft issues the Solutions Partner Designation for Security to partners that meet criteria set by Microsoft. Tecala framed the designation as evidence of its work in Microsoft security deployments and operational processes.
Ben Leggo, Chief Operating Officer, Tecala, linked the announcement to customer expectations around security assurance.
"In an environment where cyber threats, regulatory pressures, and digital transformation risks are accelerating, customers increasingly seek partners that can prove, not just claim, their security maturity. These achievements reflect our commitment to building secure-by-design services that our customers can trust. By strengthening our Microsoft security capability and expanding our ISO 27001 certification across the business, we're ensuring every solution we deliver is grounded as a core organisational discipline in resilience, governance, and operational excellence," said Ben Leggo, Chief Operating Officer, Tecala.
Tecala said the Microsoft designation affects its access to Microsoft programmes and resources tied to security work. It also said the designation forms part of its positioning in cloud and cyber security services across its customer base in Australia.
"Tecala's security designation gives customers enhanced access to Microsoft innovations, enriched threat intelligence feeds, and escalated support pathways that accelerate outcomes," said Leggo.
Leggo also drew a distinction between Tecala and other providers in the managed services market.
"Tecala sets itself apart from traditional MSPs by providing evidence-backed capability. This verifies that Tecala not only deploys best-practice security but does so in ways that deliver reliable, repeatable, high-impact outcomes for enterprise and mid-market organisations," said Leggo.
ISO scope
ISO 27001 sets requirements for information security management systems. Tecala said the updated ISO 27001:2022 scope now extends across more of its operating units, including the ADA division.
The company said the addition of ADA brings its secure software development lifecycle into the certified scope. It said the audit covered continuous integration and delivery processes used by the division, along with evidence that these processes operate as part of day-to-day work.
Tecala described the expanded certification as relevant to customers adopting automation, data platforms and AI-related systems. It said the scope extension provides a single assurance framework across cloud platforms, managed services, integration projects and software development work.
"Enterprises can also have added confidence in emerging technology adoption with Tecala," said Leggo.
"As AI agents, automation workflows, and data-driven platforms become core to business operations, having ISO-certified processes reduces organisational risk. At the same time, with ADA now integrated into the certification, customers benefit from a unified assurance framework spanning cloud platforms, managed services, integration projects, and software development activities. Passing this audit confirms that Tecala's operational maturity and that our security practices are ingrained, repeatable, and consistently applied across teams," said Leggo.
The company placed the certifications in the context of broader technology change in customer environments. It pointed to cloud modernisation and a rising use of automation and AI.
"At the same time, as organisations move deeper into cloud modernisation, AI adoption, and automation-driven operational models, the importance of choosing a partner with validated security capability cannot be overstated," said Leggo.
"Tecala's Microsoft Designations and expanded ISO 27001:2022 certification demonstrate a robust and holistic approach to protecting customers' environments. Tecala will continue to invest in platforms, people, and governance to ensure customers can innovate confidently and operate securely in a rapidly evolving digital landscape," said Leggo.
Tecala operates as a technology services provider in Australia, with work across consultancy and advisory, cloud and connectivity, cyber security, automation, data and AI, and managed services. The company said it focuses on mid-market organisations and works across multiple sectors, including regulated industries.
