TCS & Google Cloud launch AI-powered cybersecurity solutions

Wed, 4th Sep 2024

As Australia grapples with an upsurge in cyber threats, data breaches in Australian organisations occur nearly 50% more frequently than the global average. Cloud architecture has been particularly targeted, affecting millions of individuals and underscoring the need for advanced cybersecurity measures.

In response, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has broadened its partnership with Google Cloud to introduce two new cybersecurity solutions intended to enhance cyber resilience for enterprises. The partnership integrates TCS's expertise with Google's advanced technologies to offer improved security solutions.

The new offerings include the TCS Managed Detection and Response (MDR) solution and the TCS Secure Cloud Foundation. The TCS MDR solution leverages the Google Security Operations platform to reduce the time needed for security teams to detect and respond to threats. By combining the advanced threat detection capabilities of Google with TCS's contextual knowledge, the solution enables continuous security monitoring and 24/7 response.

The TCS Secure Cloud Foundation utilises Google Cloud’s security solutions to bolster cloud security posture and governance across single, multi, and hybrid cloud environments. By embedding security and compliance guardrails throughout the DevSecOps lifecycle, the solution provides continuous risk monitoring, identifies deviations, and suggests remedial actions using artificial intelligence, machine learning, and automation.

Ganesa Subramanian, VP and Global Head of the Cybersecurity Business Group at TCS, remarked, “Businesses are rapidly transforming, and they must secure their transformation journey to grow with confidence. The rise of Generative AI further underscores the need to modernise cybersecurity and strengthen cyber resilience. This partnership brings together the best of capabilities, contextual knowledge, and accelerators from TCS and Google Cloud to holistically protect the digital estates of enterprise customers, to help them be future-ready, cyber resilient businesses.”

TCS has already implemented both solutions for several clients. For instance, the Secure Cloud Foundation has provided a global bank headquartered in Germany with the capability to automate, identify, and deploy over 800 build-time and runtime security policies, thereby ensuring regulatory compliance.

Nidhi Srivastava, Vice President and Executive Champion for Google Cloud at TCS, commented, “TCS expanded partnership with Google Cloud provides two unique, AI-powered, cross-industry, enterprise solutions—the TCS Managed Detection and Response Solution and the TCS Secure Cloud Foundation—to help our clients combat advanced cybersecurity threats. Our deep industry knowledge, comprehensive portfolio, and ability to scale on Google Cloud enables us to rapidly create value for our customers.”

The decade-long partnership between TCS and Google Cloud has enabled global enterprises to transform their businesses through cloud technology. This new phase will concentrate on leveraging Google Cloud's AI-powered security offerings in threat intelligence, security operations, and cloud security. The goal is to assist clients in securing their cloud transformation journeys by providing customised solutions on a global scale, along with local expertise to ensure regulatory compliance.

Peter Bailey, Vice President and General Manager of Security Operations at Google Cloud, stated, “TCS and Google Cloud have partnered for many years to help customers harness the power of the cloud and AI to grow and transform their business. The integration of Google Security Operations into TCS MDR and Secure Cloud Foundation solutions is a natural evolution of this partnership; enabling TCS and their customers to leverage Google SecOps planet-level scalability, searchability, integrated and AI-assisted investigation and response workflows, and applied Mandiant Threat Intelligence. Together, we can help customer organisations dramatically improve their security posture and ability to respond to threats in real-time.”

TCS has been recognised by Google Cloud for its digital solutions, receiving multiple accolades, including the Google Cloud Global Expansion Partner of the Year, Google Cloud Specialisation Partner of the Year for Data Management, and Google Cloud Talent Development Partner of the Year for the Asia Pacific in 2024.
