SentinelOne & AWS expand collaboration for AI security

Fri, 18th Oct 2024

SentinelOne has announced an extension of its strategic collaboration agreement with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to enhance their AI-driven cybersecurity solutions.

The collaboration will see SentinelOne's Purple AI cybersecurity analyst harness the capabilities of Amazon Bedrock, with the aim of providing AI-powered security and protection for clients. This agreement also involves augmenting investments in SentinelOne's AI-enabled Singularity Platform within the AWS Marketplace, facilitating accessible end-to-end security for businesses.

Gregor Stewart, Vice President of AI and Machine Learning Engineering at SentinelOne, commented, "SentinelOne is focused on AI-powered security that protects customers against today's machine-speed attacks and tomorrow's novel threats. AWS has proven to be an increasingly strategic collaborator when it comes to delivering on that promise and accelerating our shared mission. By taking advantage of AWS AI infrastructure and Amazon Bedrock to train, tune, and serve our own models, we can give AWS customers access to today's best generative AI security analyst – and future Purple AI innovation – delivered entirely inside AWS."

Purple AI assists security teams by performing tasks such as early threat detection and rapid response. It translates natural language queries into structured data, summarises event logs, and guides analysts through investigations with recommended actions. It also supports the Open Cybersecurity Schema Framework (OCSF) and provides a view of both Singularity and third-party security data, enabling streamlined investigations and enhancing analytical workflows.

SentinelOne is committing further resources to AWS infrastructure usage to drive innovation and delivery of the Singularity Platform, including Purple AI. Through this collaboration, customers will be able to choose specific large language models via Amazon Bedrock to power Purple AI, which provides a suite of tools for building generative AI applications with security and privacy in focus.

Guilherme Blanco, Vice President of Infrastructure and IT at EBlock, shared his perspective, saying, "The collaboration between AWS and SentinelOne is a game-changer, enabling us to identify, try, buy, and deploy the best security solutions for our business faster than ever before. From a technology perspective, AWS and SentinelOne working together, is not only helping to protect our business, but also driving significant operational efficiency."

Additionally, SentinelOne plans to utilise new investments in the AWS co-sell programme to bring the Singularity Platform to AWS Marketplace, thus easing the process for customers in identifying and procuring necessary security solutions.

Chris Grusz, Managing Director of Technology Partnerships at AWS, emphasised, "At AWS, our mission is clear: to help customers build, scale and run their business securely. By deepening our collaboration with SentinelOne and working together to address the growing need for generative AI-driven security solutions, this announcement reinforces our ability to help our customers build resilience and better defend their environments against cybersecurity threats today and in the future."
