Security Exhibition 2025 returns to explore risks and resilience
The Security Exhibition & Conference, widely recognised as Australia's most established trade event for the security sector, will return to ICC Sydney from 27 to 29 August 2025. The event promises to unite the security and AV industries, offering an expansive showcase of new technologies, insights into global risk dynamics, and opportunities for cross-industry collaboration.
Described as 'THE event of the year' by organisers, the exhibition will feature a comprehensive show floor of cutting-edge security technologies and will be co-located with Integrate, Australia's premier AV trade show.
"The co-location of the Security Exhibition & Conference and Integrate combines Australia's security and AV industries under one roof," organisers said. "This strategic partnership reflects the natural synergy between security and AV integration."
Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the full spectrum of security and AV solutions. "Experience a comprehensive range of technologies," organisers said, referencing a line-up that includes facial recognition systems, AI-powered surveillance, IoT sensors, and unified control platforms. According to the organisers, these solutions are "designed to enhance the security and resilience of your organisation, empowering you to mitigate risks and fortify your defences against emerging threats."
Beyond the technology, the event provides direct access to the people behind the systems. Attendees will be able to engage directly with developers, consultants, integrators, and end users, providing a forum for productive business conversations and solution sourcing.
A convergence of industries and ideas
Unique to this year's edition is the emphasis on convergence between security and AV. "This combined event serves a broader community of end users, consultants, core security and AV installers, and integrators interested in cross-industry solutions," organisers said. "The co-location creates networking opportunities across previously separate industries and showcases how Security and AV technologies can work together in integrated solutions."
The exhibition floor will include technologies such as:
- Advanced cybersecurity systems
- Next-gen perimeter protection
- CCTV and surveillance equipment
- Integrated IoT and augmented reality interfaces
- Sophisticated access control and alarm solutions
- Security ASIAL Conference to address global and technological crossroads
Running concurrently on 27 and 28 August, the Security ASIAL Conference returns as Australia's premier security knowledge platform.
Under the 2025 theme "Security at a Crossroads," the conference will address the changing global security order, artificial intelligence risks, and critical infrastructure protection.
Organisers highlighted the importance of timely discourse, noting: "Australia faces an increasingly complex security landscape with geopolitical shifts, technological disruption, and evolving threats requiring immediate strategic response."
What can you expect?
- A headline keynote, 'Security in a Multipolar World', which will be delivered by Peter Jennings, Director of Strategic Analysis Australia.
Jennings will examine how global leaders like Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping are reshaping global security frameworks and the implications for Australia's defence posture.
- Another session, 'From Complexity to Clarity', which will focus on bridging communication gaps between cybersecurity professionals and business leaders.
The session will offer "proven communication strategies" to help translate technical security threats into clear business narratives.
- A third major session, 'Advancing Protective Security Settings', which will explore collaboration frameworks between government and industry.
Emphasising shared threat intelligence and joint response strategies, the discussion will outline approaches to address cyberattacks, espionage and terrorism.
On the emerging technology front, speakers from the Australian National AI Centre and Safegate AI will explore AI's dual role as both a security enabler and threat vector.
"Professionals gain practical knowledge to harness AI benefits while mitigating associated risks," organisers said.
Confirmed speakers include Hamish Hansford, Deputy Secretary for Cyber and Infrastructure Security at the Department of Home Affairs; Lee Hicken, Executive Director of the Australian National AI Centre; Anna Acopian, CEO of Safegate AI; and Assam Victor-Ifeanyi, a Security Operations Engineer in the healthcare sector.
A collaborative vision for future security
Ultimately, the Security Exhibition & Conference 2025 offers more than just a trade show - it provides a collaborative platform to tackle the rapidly evolving threat landscape.
As organisers described it: "Security is much more than an annual trade exhibition, it's a hub for industry to network, share innovation, source the latest products and see what's next for the industry as we navigate a new era in security technology."
