SailPoint launches AI-driven platform for rapid app governance

Mon, 25th Aug 2025

SailPoint has introduced SailPoint Accelerated Application Management, a new solution designed to help enterprises discover, govern, and secure applications across their organisations at scale.

The company stated that most businesses currently govern fewer than 50 applications even though many more remain unmanaged. This, they said, can lead to increased risk due to vulnerable applications falling outside of identity governance.

Traditional ways of connecting applications to identity security tools are often described as complex, requiring significant application expertise, time-consuming manual processes, and sometimes outside consultants.

SailPoint claims its new solution simplifies the process of bringing applications under governance and addressing associated risks.

Combining intelligence and governance

SailPoint Accelerated Application Management is a system that integrates continuous application discovery, automated onboarding, risk-based prioritisation, and automated governance workflows. It is built on the SailPoint Atlas platform and uses artificial intelligence-driven insights and automation to enhance security, policy enforcement, and compliance efforts.

The solution includes zero-touch onboarding, Express Setup for rapid deployment of access reviews and reporting, and advanced automation such as automated provisioning and deprovisioning, full identity lifecycle management, and AI-based policy enforcement. The company says organisations can bring hundreds of applications under governance within days.

SailPoint described three core capabilities of the platform. These include:

  • Continuous application discovery, revealing application inventory, ownership, user activities, and risky access patterns throughout the enterprise
  • Zero-touch onboarding of applications, fast access reviews, automated leaver workflows, and audit-ready reporting
  • Advanced governance, including automated provisioning and deprovisioning, self-service capabilities, and AI-driven policy enforcement

Expert services and maturity

SailPoint stated that its deployment includes expert-led services by dedicated teams, aiming to decrease the reliance on internal resources or specialised knowledge. Two service packages are available to allow customers to match their current needs and scale as their requirements mature, with ongoing support to optimise their implementation over time.

Addressing the main challenge of unmanaged applications, Chandra Gnanasambandam, Chief Technology Officer and Executive Vice President of Product at SailPoint, stated:

"If you can't see every application, you can't protect it - but visibility alone is not enough. Our customers need the intelligence to understand where their greatest risks lie, paired with automation that systematically closes those gaps. With SailPoint Accelerated Application Management, they get both - accelerating time-to-value while strengthening their security posture."

He added:

"Enterprises don't just need faster onboarding - they need a smarter foundation for long-term resilience and growth. By embedding intelligence into application management, we're enabling organisations to secure more, scale faster, and turn identity into a true driver of business agility."

Integration of Savvy technology

SailPoint also announced it has reached an agreement to acquire key assets from Savvy, a company focused on SaaS application visibility, monitoring, and real-time identity risk management.

Upon successful completion of the acquisition, which is subject to closing conditions, SailPoint plans to integrate Savvy's technology to further enhance the visibility and intelligence of its identity security offerings.

Savvy's capabilities are expected to bolster SailPoint's application discovery, risk prioritisation, and monitoring, with the goal of enabling real-time response to insider threats and other identity-related risks.

SailPoint Accelerated Application Management is currently available to customers and focuses on enabling organisations to broaden their identity security coverage efficiently, supporting compliance, and addressing the increasing complexity of enterprise IT environments.
