OpenText unveils AI cybersecurity solution to combat threats

Today

OpenText has announced the launch of its new AI-powered cybersecurity solution, OpenText Core Threat Detection and Response, which will soon be available with Cloud Editions 25.2.

This latest addition to the OpenText cybersecurity portfolio promises to bolster enterprises' threat detection capabilities. The product provides world-class threat-hunting, detection, and response tools designed to protect organisations against internal vulnerabilities and external threats in a complex digital landscape.

OpenText Core Threat Detection and Response will be accessible through Microsoft Azure. They will integrate with various Microsoft security solutions, including Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Microsoft Entra ID, and Microsoft Security Copilot. This integration empowers organisations to mitigate attacks before significant damage can occur effectively.

The solution also features a threat integration studio that allows customers to incorporate telemetry from various network solutions, applications, security tools, and enterprise technologies into OpenText Core Threat Detection and Response.

Muhi Majzoub, OpenText EVP, Security Products, commented, "Enterprises need a way to continuously adapt threat analysis to the unique behaviors of their organisation without further straining security teams. OpenText Cybersecurity Cloud represents a significant leap forward in advanced threat detection and investigation, offering a solution that is easy to use, implement, and maintain."

"Our composable open XDR architecture ensures that the solution can easily work with existing security tools customers may have for identity management, data loss prevention, or endpoint protection."

"We are also integrating our threat detection solutions with OpenText Content Management through easy integration kits to provide customers insights across applications, endpoints, and networks. This is part of our broader strategy to deliver holistic security solutions that protect the entire attack surface," said Majzoub.

OpenText Cybersecurity Cloud addresses various security challenges, including application and data protection, identity and access management, security operations, and digital forensics. Serving over 7,500 global enterprise customers, OpenText continues to supply comprehensive security solutions across industries.

Insider threats, which can result from intentional actions, simple errors, or stolen credentials, present a significant risk that organisations must manage. According to the 2023 Cost of Insider Risks Global Report by Ponemon and Sullivan, insider-related incidents cost organisations an average of USD $16.2 million annually. Many organisations find themselves vulnerable without proactive detection measures due to a shortage of cybersecurity professionals.

OpenText Core Threat Detection and Response offers enhanced security options, such as adaptive learning powered by AI algorithms. These algorithms dramatically improve detection capability and accuracy, promising improvements in security posture without necessitating overhauls of existing security stacks.

The new solution's features include rapid detection and elimination of threats through advanced anomaly detection, coding to adapt to changes in operational environments, and multi-cloud integration capabilities.

The platform is designed to evolve with each organisation's unique environment. This adaptability helps improve detection accuracy over time, aided by machine learning models that continuously refine responses to insider threats.

The solution promises simplified deployment and native integration with various Microsoft and other cybersecurity tools, aiming for quick setup and immediate operational benefit. The platform's Cybersecurity Aviator component translates AI-generated detection insights into straightforward language, allowing SOC analysts to implement preventive actions efficiently.

While still in limited release to select customers, OpenText Core Threat Detection and Response is positioned to reduce potential costs from multi-million-dollar incidents by working with existing security measures, enhancing the value and ROI of previous investments.
