OpenText launches CE 25.4 to boost secure AI readiness & compliance
OpenText has announced the release of Cloud Editions (CE) 25.4, aiming to help organisations leverage artificial intelligence with secure data management and compliance structures.
With the CE 25.4 update, OpenText intends to support customers in transitioning from a focus on "Content in Context" to "AI in Context," putting trusted and governed enterprise data at the centre of AI initiatives. This release features a number of enhancements to help organisations improve AI readiness, security, and operational efficiency across various business sectors.
Developments in data management
The company outlined that the new release addresses the growing demand for AI-ready information by integrating enriched and governed data within OpenText platforms. This approach is designed to enable organisations to accelerate the implementation of AI and enhance productivity by discovering hidden data, transforming raw content into intelligence, and contextualising information within business workflows.
Savinay Berry, Chief Product Officer and Chief Technology Officer at OpenText, said:
"At OpenText, we're helping customers move beyond information readiness to AI in context--intelligence that delivers secure, actionable results. Every solution we build helps organizations manage, govern, and protect their data while safely adopting AI at scale. With Cloud Editions 25.4, we're empowering CIOs, developers, and innovators to experiment boldly, embrace AI responsibly, and turn information into trusted outcomes faster."
The update recognises three key types of data necessary for effective AI deployment: human-generated content such as files, emails, and audio; machine-generated content like log files from IT systems; and data exchanged between organisations in business-to-business integrations and supply chains.
Tailored AI capabilities
CE 25.4 introduces a suite of industry-specific and role-focused capabilities, addressing compliance, document management, service quality, testing, data querying, audit preparation, anomaly detection, and carbon emission calculations. The release is structured around three main principles: being AI-ready by surfacing and enhancing data; embedding AI solutions that are relevant to functional business roles; and maintaining secure, governed, and compliant data operations with advanced threat detection.
According to industry analysis highlighted by OpenText, 90% of the world's data is kept behind enterprise firewalls, and effective AI depends largely on access to this private content. The company referenced a recent survey indicating that 89% of Chief Information Officers believe their AI strategy depends on robust information management. By integrating human-generated, machine-generated, and inter-organisational data, OpenText aims to provide a "cross-functional workflow" that secures intellectual property and ensures information is subject to appropriate permissions and controls.
New advisory and support services
Supporting the release, OpenText is launching several services to assist customers in utilising CE 25.4 effectively. These include Advisory Services for aligning stakeholders and mapping data governance, Deployment & Integration Services for application integration, Cloud & Platform Modernisation Services for updating legacy systems, IT Process Innovation Services to improve IT operations, Cyber Resilience Services for security baselining and response, and Advanced Customer Support Services with tiered offerings for system health and readiness.
The company stated that CE 25.4's new advisory and support options are designed to help organisations maximise their investment, ensure a seamless upgrade process, and maintain operational resilience as they adopt AI technologies.
The range of new features spans automated compliance management, document classification and archiving, enhancement of service management processes, automation of quality control and testing, text-to-code conversion for database querying, audit gap identification, supply chain anomaly detection, and aggregation for carbon emission reporting.
The update to Cloud Editions 25.4 is available now, and customers are encouraged by OpenText to consider upgrading in order to benefit from its latest capabilities and prepare their organisations for broader AI adoption.
