Nozomi named Leader in Gartner CPS security ranking

Tue, 17th Mar 2026

Nozomi Networks has been named a Leader in Gartner's 2026 Magic Quadrant for cyber-physical systems (CPS) protection platforms, marking its second consecutive year in the Leaders section.

It also received the highest scores across four use cases in Gartner's 2026 Critical Capabilities report for the same market. The use cases include discovering and mapping CPS assets, improving threat and vulnerability management, prioritising security issues and remediation, and monitoring CPS security alongside broader enterprise efforts.

The Gartner assessments focus on products for industrial and mission-critical environments outside traditional enterprise IT. Gartner defines CPS protection platforms as products that use knowledge of industrial protocols, operational network traffic and physical process behaviour to discover, categorise, map and protect cyber-physical systems.

Nozomi Networks operates in the operational technology (OT) and internet of things (IoT) security sector, covering environments such as industrial control systems and production networks. Organisations in energy, utilities, manufacturing, transport and other critical infrastructure sectors often separate these networks from corporate IT for operational reasons. However, cyber risk continues to grow as more operational assets connect to monitoring systems, remote access tools and data platforms.

Gartner ratings

The Magic Quadrant and Critical Capabilities reports serve different purposes in Gartner's research. The Magic Quadrant positions vendors within a matrix, while Critical Capabilities scores products against specific use cases. Vendors and customers often use both during procurement and evaluation.

In the Critical Capabilities report, Nozomi Networks received top scores in each of the four use cases and described the results as confirmation of its product direction in CPS protection.

Chief executive Edgard Capdevielle commented on the Magic Quadrant recognition.

“It's an honour to again be recognised as a leader in the latest Gartner Magic Quadrant for CPS protection platforms,” said Edgard Capdevielle, CEO, Nozomi Networks. “We believe this recognition highlights Nozomi's ongoing commitment to securing critical infrastructure, mitigating risk and maximising resilience.”

Product focus

Nozomi Networks positions its platform around visibility and detection in operational environments, including asset discovery and inventory across wired and wireless networks, endpoints and industrial control system endpoints. It also highlights vulnerability management, anomaly detection and threat management.

The company also points to risk reporting across assets and organisations, along with prioritisation and remediation recommendations using machine learning. These functions have become more prominent as security teams try to rank vulnerabilities and alerts across large estates that include legacy systems, specialised industrial equipment and devices with long operational lifecycles.

OT security buying has shifted in recent years as CISOs take more responsibility for industrial environments. At the same time, plant managers and engineering teams often retain operational control and deep system knowledge. This split has pushed vendors to build products that map industrial assets, present security issues in operational terms and integrate with enterprise security processes.

Market context

The CPS protection platform market has expanded as critical infrastructure operators face increased scrutiny from regulators and insurers. Security incidents in industrial environments can cause downtime, safety impacts and service disruption. As a result, many organisations are investing in monitoring, segmentation and incident response processes tailored to industrial networks.

Nozomi Networks serves customers across six continents. Founded in 2013, it focuses on OT, IoT and cyber-physical systems security.

The company has also been named a Customers' Choice in Gartner's Voice of the Customer research for CPS Protection Platforms.

Nozomi Networks expects demand to remain strong as industrial organisations expand connectivity, modernise equipment and align operational environments with enterprise security governance and reporting.
