New Relic unveils one-step observability for Kubernetes
New Relic has launched one-step observability for Kubernetes to streamline monitoring in dynamically changing environments.
The new feature by New Relic automatically instruments Application Performance Monitoring (APM) with Kubernetes deployments, negating the requirement for additional set ups.
It introduces AI-enhanced insights along with pre-configured dashboards to assist in managing Kubernetes workloads, which in turn accelerates incident resolution and boosts developer efficiency.
Kubernetes is an open-source platform intended to automate the processes of deployment, scaling, and management for containerised applications. Its growing popularity is linked to its ability to foster innovation and cost efficiency, particularly beneficial for organisations utilising microservices architectures by enabling engineers to manage the lifecycle of containers effectively. Traditionally, obstacles have arisen in monitoring performance as it requires separate installation of APM and Kubernetes integrations to achieve full observability across both applications and Kubernetes clusters, a process that has often been complex and time-intensive.
New Relic's solution offers what they describe as "intelligent observability" that combines APM and Kubernetes with AI-supported insights, aiming to address these challenges.
Providing an extensive overview, New Relic's service allows for swift detection and resolution of issues across applications and Kubernetes workloads.
This capability is designed to maximise uptime, reliability, and performance, thereby potentially increasing customer satisfaction and business revenue.
Some of the features and benefits highlighted by New Relic include: one-step instrumentation to facilitate quick APM instrumentation with Kubernetes deployments devoid of code alterations; AI-enhanced, ready-to-use insights providing a unified interface for correlating application and Kubernetes data; native support for OpenTelemetry (OTel) and Prometheus that consolidates telemetry data to prevent fragmentation and blind spots, enhancing onboarding and correlation processes.
Additionally, New Relic AI aims to democratise observability by enabling users regardless of their role or expertise to access insights and respond to issues with ease through intuitive natural language prompts.
Manav Khurana, Chief Product Officer at New Relic, commented on the new development saying, "Modern organisations are embracing Kubernetes to drive innovation and efficiency gains, but this often comes with trade-offs in performance management."
"New Relic simplifies observability workloads for Kubernetes environments so that developer and platform teams can more easily monitor their stacks—all with intelligent insights driven by our AI-strengthened Intelligent Observability platform."
New Relic's One-Step Observability for Kubernetes is now accessible to all its customers.
