Netskope & Microsoft boost data security across AI & cloud
Netskope has announced the availability of deeper integrations between its enterprise security platform and several Microsoft solutions, aimed at strengthening data protection and threat prevention for organisations operating in cloud and artificial intelligence environments.
Data protection
Netskope's platform now integrates with Microsoft Purview to provide expanded data loss prevention (DLP) capabilities. The collaboration extends Microsoft's sensitive data discovery and classification tools to a wider range of applications, including artificial intelligence tools and unsanctioned cloud storage. This unifies the enforcement of security policies across endpoints, software-as-a-service, infrastructure-as-a-service, and network traffic, offering enterprises a single platform to monitor and govern data use.
The integration allows organisations to implement consistent DLP strategies across heterogeneous technology landscapes. By bringing together policy enforcement from both platforms, enterprises can increase visibility and real-time detection of potential data breaches.
Identity security
Netskope has also made its Advanced Security Service Edge (SSE) solution available directly within Microsoft Entra Global Secure Access. This enables companies to combine Microsoft's identity and access management controls with Netskope's DLP and advanced threat protection. Netskope is currently the only platform provider to offer full integration across Entra GSA's data protection, threat defence, and SD-WAN features.
This approach enables security controls to be implemented regardless of an employee's location or the level of access required for different applications. The integration is designed to help enterprises protect sensitive information while ensuring network security against evolving threats.
AI compliance
With artificial intelligence tools becoming increasingly embedded in workplace processes, Netskope has announced its Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) application programming interface (API) support for Microsoft 365 Copilot. This addition gives administrators greater oversight of data interactions within Microsoft's AI productivity suite.
Through the API, businesses can implement data-at-rest policies and enhance monitoring of user actions while using Microsoft 365 Copilot. The integration delivers near real-time alerts to potential risks, enabling enforcement of DLP and threat protection policies as employees adopt AI-powered workflows. The goal is to support responsible adoption by minimising accidental data leaks or misuse during AI-assisted tasks.
Customer focus
"By integrating Netskope's leading SASE and SSE capabilities with Microsoft's robust cloud ecosystem, organisations are empowered to embrace cloud and AI with confidence and security," said John Martin, Chief Product Officer, Netskope. "Our latest advancements with Microsoft, now generally available to all customers, underscore Netskope's commitment to meet the rapidly evolving needs of modern enterprises."
Availability of these integrated solutions is through Microsoft's commercial distribution channels and Netskope's partner network.
"Security is truly a team sport, and these integrated solutions with Netskope proves that collaboration is key to tackling today's most complex cyber challenges," said Joy Chik, President, Identity and Network Access, Microsoft. "By bringing together the power of Microsoft's identity and network access solution, Microsoft Entra, with Netskope's Security Service Edge (SSE) capabilities, we're solving critical customer security issues through a single, unified solution. This allows organisations to move faster toward a comprehensive Zero Trust architecture, protecting users, data, and applications everywhere without compromising performance or user experience. It's about providing our customers with the flexibility and the best-of-breed protection they need to thrive in a hybrid world."
