Milestone Systems launches XProtect 2024 R1 with key updates

Milestone Systems has announced the release of XProtect 2024 R1, focusing on improving cybersecurity resilience, streamlining video management software (VMS) operations, and enhancing customization capabilities to meet evolving customer needs.

The latest update introduces new capabilities aimed at bolstering cybersecurity measures and ensuring compliance within VMS environments. The XProtect Update Manager is a prominent feature, simplifying the deployment of hotfixes across multiple servers from a central location. This centralized method helps protect VMS systems while potentially reducing operational costs.

Another significant feature is the Care Reminder in the Management Client. This function alerts administrators when their Care subscription is nearing expiration, thereby allowing them to renew proactively and maintain uninterrupted system support.

XProtect 2024 R1 aims to enhance operational efficiency and offers several improvements in customization options. The Multiroom Audio feature in XProtect Hospital Assist is designed to enable medical staff to listen to multiple patient rooms simultaneously. By combining live video and audio, medical personnel can gain a comprehensive overview of patients' conditions. This functionality aims to enhance operational efficiency within medical facilities by enabling staff to respond promptly to critical situations.

The update also introduces the Combined Media Player Format in the XProtect Smart Client. This feature facilitates the sharing of video exports by allowing users to compile multiple video sequences into a single file. The function is intended to streamline investigations and collaboration efforts.

For XProtect Rapid REVIEW, the 2024 M1 update brings an optimised user role management experience, designed to grant users appropriate access rights without compromising security. One notable addition is the Fast Track capability, which assists investigators in locating objects across adjacent cameras by leveraging the camera geolocation setup in XProtect. This feature aims to expedite the investigative process.

The latest release also includes multiple user-experience enhancements, such as the ability to search for cameras by tags. This function is geared towards providing a more intuitive interface for operators, making system navigation and management more straightforward.
