McLaren partners with Rubrik to secure racing data

Thu, 29th Jan 2026

McLaren Racing has signed a multi-year technology partnership with data security firm Rubrik, covering its Formula 1 and IndyCar programmes.

The agreement names Rubrik an Official Partner of the McLaren Mastercard Formula 1 Team and the Arrow McLaren IndyCar Team. McLaren races in Formula 1 with drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. Arrow McLaren competes in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES.

McLaren and Rubrik said the partnership centres on data, with both organisations pointing to the role of secure access and recovery in modern racing operations.

Data Focus

McLaren described Formula 1 as heavily dependent on data, with teams processing information from car performance, simulation, strategy and trackside operations. The team said data availability and integrity affect the speed of technical development and day-to-day decision-making across a long global calendar.

Rubrik positions itself as a supplier of cyber resilience services. It sells products for data protection, monitoring and recovery across cloud environments. The company also markets tools it describes as focused on AI operations.

McLaren said the partnership gives it access to Rubrik's technology portfolio. McLaren framed the relationship around resilience and recovery. It said those areas matter for technical development processes and wider operations.

Rubrik also referred to its work with business and government organisations. The company trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker RBRK.

Racing Programmemes

The partnership spans two of McLaren's highest-profile series. The Formula 1 team competes in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship. The IndyCar operation runs under the Arrow McLaren name in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES.

McLaren Racing also competes in other categories. The team enters the F1 Academy with Driver Development Programmeme members. It also runs a squad in the F1 Sim Racing Championship as McLaren Shadow.

McLaren said it has won 23 Formula 1 world championships and more than 200 Formula 1 Grands Prix. The team has also won the Indianapolis 500 three times and the Le Mans 24 Hours at its first attempt.

Technology Partners

Formula 1 teams often use commercial partnerships to support technology deployments and to align brand marketing with engineering and operational work. Partnerships increasingly include data services, cybersecurity and cloud suppliers as teams expand their trackside and remote computing estates.

McLaren linked the partnership to the pressures of a global racing schedule and the need for consistent access to information. Rubrik emphasised resilience and availability, with the company placing its services in the context of performance-critical environments.

"We operate in one of the most data‐driven sports in the world. Data integrity is a competitive advantage and we partner with organisations who match our standards for speed, high performance and reliability. Rubrik shares that mindset. Together, we're focused on strengthening the technological resilience that underpins performance across our racing programmes," said Zak Brown, CEO, McLaren Racing.

Rubrik said it expects its products to play a role in securing McLaren's data and supporting the team's technical development processes and operations.

"In a sport where champions can be determined by milliseconds, teams must have the most resilient technology, with data that is always available. We excel at securing systems to drive business performance and we are proud to partner with McLaren Racing, a World Championship winning team firing on all cylinders," said Sinha.
