Wed, 28th Jan 2026

LevelBlue and Fortra have launched a strategic managed services partnership that includes LevelBlue's acquisition of Fortra's Alert Logic managed security services business.

The agreement centres on managed detection and response services delivered under the Alert Logic brand. It also creates a broader technology partnership between the two companies in managed cybersecurity services and software.

Acquisition scope

LevelBlue said it will acquire the managed services operations for Fortra's Alert Logic Managed Detection and Response offering. The transaction also covers managed services linked to Alert Logic's Extended Detection and Response and Web Application Firewall offerings.

The companies did not disclose financial terms. They also did not give a timeline for the completion of the acquisition or details on regulatory approvals.

LevelBlue positions itself as a managed security services provider with a global footprint. Fortra sells cybersecurity software across offensive and defensive security, with a channel-focused go-to-market model.

Customer impact

LevelBlue said the deal expands its managed detection and response platform. The company said that platform has grown through recent acquisitions.

LevelBlue said Alert Logic customers will gain access to a larger global footprint. The company also said customers will see broader threat telemetry. It said clients will have faster detection and response across complex environments.

Fortra will take on a larger role as a technology partner for LevelBlue under the long-term arrangement. LevelBlue said it will make Fortra software and platforms available to its client base as part of its managed services model.

Product portfolio

LevelBlue said Fortra's products add depth in several areas of security. It highlighted data security, brand protection, email security, and offensive security.

The companies said the combined offer will cover more of the attack surface. They also said clients will have more choice in tools and services.

LevelBlue said it delivers security services across managed security, offensive security, incident response, threat intelligence, and managed detection and response. The company also referenced cloud-based services and the use of AI in its operations.

Fortra said it provides offensive and defensive security products. It also highlighted products for data protection and controls across email and file transfer. The company also referenced compliance use cases.
