KnowBe4 launches free resource kit for Cybersecurity Month
KnowBe4 has released its seventh annual cybersecurity awareness resource kit to support organisations during Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2025.
The new resource kit, which is available at no cost, is designed to help organisations strengthen their human risk management efforts in line with this year's Cybersecurity Awareness Month theme, "Secure Our World". The theme supports the ongoing global focus on practical steps that can protect digital environments, such as strong password use, non-phishable multifactor authentication, recognising phishing attempts, reporting suspicious activity, and maintaining updated software.
Cybersecurity Awareness Month was established in 2004 as a collaboration between the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the National Cyber Security Alliance, with the aim of encouraging safe and secure use of technology across public and private sectors. Since then, the month has become a fixture in many organisations' calendars for reviewing and enhancing security practices.
This year's offering from KnowBe4 features an arcade-style approach intended to provide accessible, engaging materials suitable for a wide range of organisations, regardless of size or sector. The kit aims to build a security-conscious culture by providing employees with both the knowledge and the reasoning behind secure practices.
"Every October, we have this incredible opportunity to reset and refocus on what really matters in cybersecurity – human risk management," said Erich Kron, Security Awareness Advocate at KnowBe4. "This comprehensive resource kit empowers organisations to build genuine security culture where employees understand not just what to do, but why it matters. When we empower employees with knowledge, we are not just protecting data – we are helping to 'Secure Our World'."
The resource kit includes four character cards depicting "Arcade Villain" threats in a retro eight-bit style to help communicate common risks in an approachable manner. Training modules such as "Insights From a Hacker" and "AI, Phishing, and Cybersafety" are available in up to 36 languages to support multinational workforces and diverse linguistic environments.
The materials are intended for use both in office and digitally, with posters and signage provided for display in physical premises as well as virtual workspaces. The kit also includes a detailed weekly planner designed to help administrators and team leaders structure cybersecurity awareness activities throughout the month of October.
KnowBe4's approach is based on the concept that employee behaviour plays a crucial role in an organisation's cyber resilience, with human error frequently identified as a contributing factor in security breaches. By making security behaviour both accessible and understandable, the company aims to assist organisations in establishing practices that persist beyond awareness month initiatives.
The availability of resources in multiple languages seeks to further broaden the impact of the kit, allowing global firms to harmonise their security awareness campaigns across regions. Further, the mix of visual resources, interactive training, and structured planning is intended to cater to various learning styles and organisational cultures.
Erich Kron highlighted the importance of employee engagement in these efforts, stating that informed employees form the backbone of any secure organisation and can be decisive in preventing security incidents.
By providing the toolkit without cost, KnowBe4 is seeking to remove financial barriers for organisations of all sizes as they work to improve their cybersecurity posture and adopt this year's "Secure Our World" message.
