Jamie Norton named Vice Chair of ISACA board for 2025 to 2026

Tue, 5th Aug 2025

Jamie Norton has been appointed as Vice Chair of the ISACA global board for the 2025–2026 term.

Norton, who currently serves as Chief Information Security Officer for the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, will take on the Vice Chair role as part of ISACA's ongoing commitment to strengthen its global leadership.

He joins Chair John De Santis, a technology executive based in the United States, to lead a team of 13 directors drawn from regions including the US, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Australia.

International representation

The newly announced board will also include Dr Tim Sattler from Germany as a new addition, alongside other returning directors representing various regions across the globe. The full board was formally installed at ISACA's Annual General Meeting held in Chicago and virtually, which also coincided with the first official ISACA Awareness Day in Illinois in recognition of the organisation's work in cybersecurity, governance, risk, and assurance.

Jamie Norton brings over 25 years of experience in cybersecurity, governance, AI safety, and risk management to the board. His career has spanned both public and private sectors, including time as a partner at McGrathNicol, Chief Information Security Officer for the Australian Taxation Office, and advisory roles with companies such as start-up Crisis Commanded and Avertro.

As a long-standing member of ISACA, Norton has actively contributed to the organisation's local and global initiatives. His involvement has included input into the globally recognised CISM certification program and work relating to Australia's Cyber Security Strategy as well as the ASD IRAP and Cloud programmes.

Focus on digital trust

Reflecting on his appointment, Norton said it is a privilege to serve as Vice Chair of ISACA's Board of Directors. "As we face escalating cyber threats and rapid developments in AI and technology, the role of our profession has never been more vital," added Norton. "I'm committed to helping strengthen the global community of digital trust professionals, while ensuring we continue to build and support a diverse pipeline of future leaders."

Norton is widely recognised for his contributions to digital trust and his efforts to advance professional education and certification standards within the industry. His leadership within ISACA has included mentoring roles and the development of educational programs intended to broaden expertise among professionals in the field.

The appointment comes as ISACA seeks to bolster its community of digital trust professionals worldwide. Norton's expertise in both the public and private sectors is expected to support the board's efforts to keep pace with the evolving landscape in cybersecurity, particularly as organisations adapt to new technologies and threats.

Board perspective

ISACA CEO Erik Prusch said, "It is a true pleasure to welcome this year's board directors, who have all contributed so much to both this organisation and the industries we serve. Each member brings valuable insight, experience and passion that strengthens our mission and vision and amplifies our impact for our members."

The incoming board for 2025–2026 will oversee various initiatives focused on international collaboration, enhancements to digital trust frameworks, and continued professional development for ISACA members. Recurring issues addressed by ISACA in previous years include the rapid pace of technological advancement and the rising complexity of cyber threats.

ISACA's activities remain rooted in industry standards, certification, and the provision of resources for professionals working in information systems, governance, risk, and assurance. The board's composition this term underscores a strategy of international representation and industry experience.
