Inde Technology has appointed Marie Tamplin as General Manager of Sales to lead its next phase of commercial growth.

Based in Auckland, Tamplin brings more than 30 years of experience in the technology sector. She has held senior roles at Deloitte, SAP and IBM, as well as Jade Software Corporation in New Zealand.

Most recently, she was Senior Account Executive, Government and Banking, at ClearPoint, a New Zealand-owned ICT professional services company. Her background spans sales leadership, commercial strategy and go-to-market execution.

Return to tech

Tamplin said her move back to New Zealand's high-growth technology sector followed time in global corporate roles.

"The New Zealand tech sector is vibrant. We are innovative in this part of the world, and are good thinkers. We punch above our weight in international markets with innovation, we're nimble and we can pivot easily and quickly. So the New Zealand tech sector is where it's at for me," she said.

She said businesses are facing a period of rapid technological change and need help understanding what it means for them.

"We're on the dawn of a new digital age. Businesses need help understanding what that means for them. That's what drew me to Inde. They have the capability inside their organisation to help customers navigate this new era and what that means for licensing, technology stacks, cloud environments, security and, more importantly, how to prosecute the opportunity of artificial intelligence for their business," she said.

Tamplin also pointed to the company's relationship with Microsoft and its ownership structure.

"Inde's a premium partner with Microsoft, with more specialisations here in New Zealand than any other brand. Pair that with a business that's employee-owned, and you get people who are genuinely invested in getting it right for customers, not just hitting a number. That's rare, and a part of why I'm excited to be working at Inde," she said.

Sales focus

In the role, Tamplin will lead a team of six. Her brief is to strengthen the sales function alongside the company's technical operations.

"It's about moving our sales team to the next level of commercial development, so we're match fit to help customers uncover the opportunities we're talking about in data, AI and cybersecurity, wherever it shows up for them. When we get that right, our technical teams look at what we're doing and think, these guys really know their craft. And customers feel that too. They get a team that understands their business, tells their story properly and looks after them the whole way through," she said.

The appointment comes as Inde expands its leadership team and grows its presence across New Zealand and Australia. It described the hire as part of a broader effort to build its commercial capability in line with its technical work.

Chief Executive Officer Dave Veronese said the role would be central to how Inde engages with clients on data, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.

"Marie brings a powerful combination of industry experience, commercial discipline and genuine passion for New Zealand's tech sector. As our clients look to navigate the opportunities in data, AI and cybersecurity, having a sales team that can have meaningful conversations that flow onto our technical team is critical," he said.
