Gallagher wins big at Australian security awards event

Fri, 25th Oct 2024

Global security manufacturer Gallagher Security achieved a double win at the Australian Security Industry Awards for Excellence and the Outstanding Security Performance Awards in Melbourne.

Gallagher's Augmented Reality (AR) Training, released less than six months ago, was recognised as the Outstanding Security Training Initiative at the Outstanding Security Performance Awards. The AR Training programme, introduced in Australia in May, enhances accessibility to training, building on previous initiatives such as Train the Trainer, Virtual Classroom sessions, and online training modules.

Danielle Mitchell, Gallagher Security Training Manager for Asia Pacific, India, Middle East, and Africa, stated, "This award recognises Gallagher's continued commitment to pushing training boundaries, delivering innovative opportunities for our customers. AR training eliminates geographical constraints and logistical delays associated with traditional training methods, increases course availability and frequency, and is open to all attendees, regardless of where they are located, meaning technicians can be trained on demand."

Gallagher plans to expand the roll-out of its AR Training across the Asia Pacific and India, Middle East, and Africa regions.

The company's Controller 7000 (C7000) also received recognition as Product of the Year in the Access Control category during the Australian Security Industry Awards for Excellence. This accolade adds to a series of awards the C7000 has won throughout 2024, including the Outstanding New Security Product at the New Zealand and India and South Asia Outstanding Security Performance Awards, and the Innovative Achievement Award at the Detektor International Awards.

Launched in November 2023, the C7000 delivers comprehensive security management, handling access control, intruder alerts, perimeter security, and business automation, alongside logic applications for various organisations. Its design includes advanced cybersecurity features and effortless upgrade paths, aimed at preparing users for future technological developments.

Craig Schutte, Executive Vice President for Asia Pacific and India, Middle East, and Africa at Gallagher Security, commented, "This award is testament to everyone involved in bringing the C7000 to market. Gallagher is passionate about pushing cybersecurity to the next level so that we can protect what matters most, and the C7000 really pushes the limits of what can be achieved when products are designed with security baked in right from the beginning."

The awards event, organised by the Australian Security Industry Association Ltd, combined multiple industry programmes, including the Australian Security Medals Awards, into a single celebration of the security sector.
