Thu, 11th Jan 2024

Gallagher Security has confirmed the appointment of George Dunleavy to a key role, taking over as Sales Manager for South Australia and Northern Territory (SA and NT) from Karl Harris. The appointment comes as part of an internal promotion to help strengthen Gallagher Security's operations in the region.

Dunleavy initially joined Gallagher Security in 2021, operating as the Technical Business Development Manager for SA and NT. He carries 17 solid years in the security industry, equipped with an abundance of industry knowledge. Prior to this role, he served as a Strategic Manager for Security and Emergency Management with the Department for Education. His past experience also includes work as a Police Officer with the South Australian Police in Adelaide and the West Midlands Police in Birmingham, England.

In response to his promotion, Dunleavy expressed a strong interest in the challenging task ahead, stating, “I am looking forward to furthering the success of Gallagher Security in our region, strengthening connections with existing clients, and unlocking new opportunities. It is an exciting time for the industry and the company, and I am proud to have the opportunity to impart my own personality and values into the way we deliver our objectives over the coming years.”

While serving in the Department for Education, Dunleavy played a key role in provisioning electronic security and access control for Australia’s first vertical high school due to a $1 billion school construction programme delivered by the South Australian Government. His new role will see him working closely with Gallagher’s extended network of Channel Partners and Mark Vickery, Technical Business Development Manager for SA and NT in Adelaide.

Executive Vice President for Asia Pacific and India, Middle East, and Africa at Gallagher Security, Craig Schutte, highlighted Dunleavy's qualities that led to his internal progression, saying, “After an extensive and competitive recruitment process, we are thrilled to have promoted George within our team. George brings a wealth of practical incident and crisis management experience, extensive contacts and relationships within the region, and will be instrumental in Gallagher’s continued growth across South Australia.”

Scott Johnstone, National Sales Manager for Australia, echoed similar sentiments, adding, “Since joining Gallagher, George has established himself as a trusted advisor with a solid technical foundation of Gallagher solutions, making him well placed to continue supporting and expanding the success of the SA and NT regions.”

Dunleavy intends to deepen interactions with End Users, Channel Partners, integration partners, and industry professionals throughout the year, aiming to identify areas for improvement. He said, “This proactive approach is targeted at ensuring our Gallagher Security experience consistently exceeds expectations and strengthens our community and commercial ties.”

Following the internal promotion, it has been revealed that Gallagher Security is on the hunt for a Senior Business Development Manager who will play an active role in driving further growth across South Australia and Northern Territory.
