Flare unveils enhanced MSSP programme with proactive cybersecurity features
Mon, 20th Nov 2023

Montreal-based cybersecurity company, Flare, announced the launch of their enhanced Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) programme on November 16, 2023. The new initiative offers partners additional support and resources to help develop their businesses and deliver valuable protection to their customers.

The programme builds on the concept of Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM), an innovative approach to cybersecurity that aims to confront risks existing outside the network's security perimeter in real time. This early-warning strategy considerably reduces the vulnerability to substantial risks that could potentially disrupt businesses, making it a practical and cost-efficient tactic. Flare’s CTEM platform is designed to be scalable and adaptable, fitting into various managed security business models such as risk assessments, penetration testing, managed detection and response (MDR), and incident response.

The Gartner eBook Top Strategic Technology Trends 2024 suggests that organisations embracing a CTEM program as their key security investment will likely experience a reduction in breaches by two-thirds by 2026.

Norman Menz, CEO of Flare, sees this development as a substantial advancement in proactive cybersecurity and a new scope for their MSSP partners. "CTEM marks a significant stride in proactive cybersecurity and an exciting new business opportunity for our MSSP partners," Menz stated, "Flare’s powerful platform can really amplify the MSSPs ability to detect and quickly respond to external threats for their customers and help to keep their organisations safe."

Flare's updated MSSP partner programme comes with three tiers of service: Flare for Security Assessments, Flare for MSSP, and Flare for MSSP Premium. The first - Flare for Security Assessments, is designed for firms interested in utilising Flare's platform to bolster security assessment services, incident response and client outcomes, while also growing service margins. The latter two assist businesses in establishing a full CTEM solution for their clients. Alongside this, premium partners receive additional benefits such as price advantages, exclusive APIs for integration, threat analyst support, and exclusive co-marketing opportunities.

Founder of Sandstorm Cyber, Eric Herbert, shared his approval of the new programme. "Flare's new tiered MSSP services align well with Sandstorm Cyber's tailored cybersecurity approach", he said. Eric Herbert added it "complements our goal of delivering strategic and tactical value-added analysis based on hard-to-find indicators — enabling us to provide more comprehensive and in-depth threat analysis services to our clients. This collaboration strengthens our ability to mitigate risks and protect our clients' digital assets."
