Extreme Networks appoints Nuti as Head of Security sales

Extreme Networks has announced the appointment of David Nuti as Head of Security Sales, signalling a strategic move to bolster the company's leadership in the integration of networking, security, and artificial intelligence (AI).

Nuti brings significant experience to the role, having previously held senior positions at various leading cybersecurity firms. At Extreme Networks, his responsibilities will include advancing the company's Universal Zero Trust Network Access (UZTNA) solution and contributing to its cybersecurity revenue growth.

David Nuti has been recognised for his work in Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) practices and the deployment of innovative technologies in the cybersecurity realm. He has formerly served as the Chief Business Development Officer at Exium, a SASE solutions provider, and as Senior Vice President for Nord Security's B2B and enterprise sectors in North America. Additionally, Nuti has held several leadership roles at Aryaka Networks, bringing years of valuable experience in aligning cybersecurity with business strategies to Extreme Networks.

With this appointment, Extreme Networks aims to reinforce its position at the forefront of combining networking and security solutions. The company's offerings, such as the Extreme Network Fabric, ExtremeCloud Universal ZTNA, and Extreme Air Defense, are currently utilised by over 5,000 customers to enhance security through various technologies, including network segmentation and automation. Ed Meyercord, President and CEO of Extreme Networks, highlighted the firm's strategic focus by stating, "As Extreme drives the convergence of AI, networking and security across the industry, we continue to augment innovation with strong leadership and expertise." He added, "Dave brings the gravitas and grit to help Extreme elevate its security leadership to the next level."

Nuti will now report to Nabil Bukhari, General Manager of Extreme's subscription business, as he takes on his new role. In light of current global cybersecurity concerns, Nuti emphasised the importance of vigilance and innovation, saying, "Security is top of mind for every C-Suite executive. Evolving threats and explosive data growth are creating new challenges for organisations, and they must be vigilant in balancing innovation and growth with rising security concerns." He expressed enthusiasm for his new role, particularly in helping customers to harness Extreme's security solutions for improved operational efficiency.
