Elastic joins CAI to combat digital misinformation with Adobe

Elastic has announced its membership in the Content Authenticity Initiative (CAI), a collaborative effort aimed at combating digital misinformation and promoting the transparency and authenticity of AI-generated content. Founded by Adobe in 2019, the CAI has grown to include over 2,000 major media and technology companies. Elastic is set to contribute its search and data analysis expertise to this burgeoning coalition.

Carolyn Herzog, chief legal officer at Elastic, expressed the company's commitment to addressing the issue of misinformation. "In today's digital wild west, content authenticity is essential,” she said. “By joining the Content Authenticity Initiative, we're not just talking the talk – we're building a more trustworthy online ecosystem that gives users the tools they need to separate fact from fiction."

Elastic specialises in search solutions and large-scale data analysis, crucial skills in the fight against digital misinformation. The company aims to leverage its technological capabilities to contribute meaningfully to the CAI's mission. Brian O'Keefe, senior vice president at Adobe and a prominent figure in the CAI, welcomed Elastic's involvement.
