DriveSavers & Computer Troubleshooters team up for SMB data recovery
DriveSavers has entered into a partnership with Computer Troubleshooters Australia to provide data recovery and ransomware response services to small and medium-sized businesses across Australia.
This agreement enables Computer Troubleshooters' national franchise network to deliver enterprise-grade data recovery solutions to its customers, with a particular focus on addressing the growing threat of ransomware attacks and increased incidents of data loss affecting smaller organisations.
DriveSavers, with a track record in data recovery since 1985 and newly established facilities in Brisbane, specialises in data recovery for a range of digital storage devices including hard drives, solid-state drives, mobile devices, RAID arrays, NAS/SAN systems, and virtual environments. The company employs proprietary technology such as X-ray scanning for inspecting physical media and reports high success rates in recovering data from ransomware-affected devices and other severe failure scenarios.
The collaboration is set against a backdrop of rising cyber threats in Australia. Figures from the Australian Cyber Security Centre indicate that the typical self-reported cost of a cyberattack against a small business is now AUD $49,600. The centre receives approximately 100 calls daily from small businesses seeking assistance, highlighting the widespread impact on Australia's more than 2.6 million SMBs, many of which operate without comprehensive cybersecurity recovery plans or robust data backup strategies.
Computer Troubleshooters, which maintains a nationwide franchise network, now has the capacity to work closely with clients experiencing complex data loss issues. Through its partnership with DriveSavers, the company aims to maximise outcomes for businesses facing critical IT failures, offering advanced data retrieval capabilities in addition to its existing onsite and remote support services.
Expanded services
As a result of the partnership, Computer Troubleshooters is able to extend enterprise-grade data recovery support to its customer base. Beyond traditional solutions, DriveSavers provides specialist support for cases involving ransomware, particularly where backups are deleted, databases are corrupted, or files are left unrecoverable due to failed decryptors. These services are integrated with support from digital forensics and incident response providers, IT restoration companies, insurance firms, and cyber law professionals.
DriveSavers managers report that case studies have demonstrated successful recoveries of data following ransomware attacks on systems ranging from Veeam backups and SQL databases to virtual environments based on VMware and Hyper-V. These efforts have delivered tangible business continuity results for affected organisations.
Industry alignment
The new partnership is designed to align closely with the needs of the Australian market, where many businesses lack access to advanced data recovery solutions. By joining forces, DriveSavers and Computer Troubleshooters are aiming to fill this gap, providing a more effective response to the increasing demand for reliable data restoration amid an evolving threat landscape.

Together, DriveSavers and Computer Troubleshooters offer a trusted path forward when conventional backup and disaster recovery methods fall short."
The partnership is intended to create a pathway for Australian SMBs to address increasingly complex data loss issues, combining local IT support with advanced recovery techniques to maintain business continuity in challenging situations.
