Digimune & ViaCarte launch Identicate cyber protection for banks
Digimune has announced a partnership with payment solutions provider ViaCarte to offer the Identicate cyber protection platform to Australian financial institutions.
The collaboration enables banks, credit unions, neobanks and other financial institutions in Australia to integrate Identicate directly into their customer offerings, providing a new level of digital risk management and identity protection.
Platform integration
Identicate is described as a privacy-first digital security solution tailored for cardholders, created through the integration of Digimune's cybersecurity technology within ViaCarte's banking platform. The platform offers deep and dark web monitoring, real-time alerts for identity breaches, a cyber warranty with financial reimbursement for identity-related fraud, and customer education tools addressing cyber threats such as phishing and ransomware.
ViaCarte is licensed by Visa and Mastercard, bringing its broader range of payment protection and digital financial services to the Australian market alongside Identicate.
"Digitisation has transformed practically every aspect of our lives and brought about innumerable benefits. However, it comes hand in hand with a host of invisible threats," said Simon Campbell-Young, Managing Director of Digimune. "Data breaches and identity theft are growing threats in today's digital world, with increasing reports of personal information being stolen and misused. As more people conduct their lives online, from banking to social media, cybercriminals have more opportunities to access personal information."
Features and monitoring
Co-developed by Digimune and ViaCarte, Identicate is designed for the banking sector and includes monitoring across credit card and bank account data, email, phone numbers, social media profiles, passports, IDs, health information, physical addresses and birth dates. Real-time alerts notify users of risks, enabling prompt responses, and educational tools are provided to help users understand and avoid contemporary threats.
The Identicate platform includes a built-in cyber warranty, providing financial reimbursement in the event of digital fraud or identity theft, giving financial institutions a customer-facing solution with clearly defined benefits.
Expanded services
Through the partnership, Australian financial institutions can access additional offerings from ViaCarte, which include payment protection products, digital banking platform enhancements, services for debit and credit cards, and customer engagement tools. These solutions are aimed at improving user security and satisfaction while also supporting loyalty strategies for banks and other providers.
ViaCarte is targeting a variety of financial sector participants in Australia, such as retail banks, digital-first banks, credit unions, mutual organisations, and prepaid and digital wallet platforms.
Local integration and regulatory compliance
Digimune has structured support for Australian institutions with APIs that adhere to Australia's financial services regulatory standards, allowing for quick and compliant integration of these technologies. This approach enables financial institutions to add digital risk protection and embedded financial services into their existing platforms without significant redevelopment.
"As cybercrime accelerates across the globe, protecting customers' identity data has become a business-critical issue for financial institutions," said Anthony Cooper, Regional Managing Director, Digimune Group. "Through this partnership with ViaCarte, we're enabling Australian banks and credit unions to offer a market-leading solution that delivers real protection for their customers, and real peace of mind in the digital age."
This partnership forms part of Digimune's ongoing expansion of cybersecurity and digital risk management services within the financial sector, as growing threats such as data breaches and identity theft continue to be cited as business-critical issues.
