Contrast Security appoints Faya Peng as ADR division GM
Contrast Security has announced the appointment of Faya Peng as the General Manager of its Application Detection and Response (ADR) division.
Faya Peng joins Contrast Security from Splunk and will be responsible for overseeing the global strategy, product vision, and go-to-market execution of ADR. This area is noted as the fastest growing emerging category within cybersecurity.
ADR by Contrast Security aims to empower security teams by detecting threats and stopping attacks that target applications and APIs. It uniquely positions its defenses within the application itself, offering a security approach from within.
"There is an alarming gap in organizations' security programs when it comes to applications and APIs. I'm excited to lead Contrast Security Application Detection and Response to help solve that problem," said Peng. "Cybersecurity is crucial to how we live our lives and I'm here to make sure more companies are protected by Contrast Security's exceptional technology."
Peng, who previously held a leadership role at Splunk, has a robust background in cybersecurity. During her tenure, she managed major product launches and led a data platform employed by numerous companies to enhance their security operations.
"I've seen firsthand that security teams are more effective when they have visibility and context across the stack. ADR brings that needed visibility to applications and APIs," Peng added.
Before her time at Splunk, Peng contributed to shaping the long-term strategic direction and mergers and acquisitions at Cisco, particularly within its cybersecurity division, which significantly influences Cisco's revenue.
Rick Fitz, CEO of Contrast Security, expressed his enthusiasm over Peng's addition to the team. "Since we launched ADR, we've seen excitement from the security community, from analysts and, most importantly, our customers," he said. "We are thrilled to have someone of Faya Peng's caliber join Contrast Security to expand our ADR team and evolve the product."
