Fri, 22nd Nov 2024

Check Point Software Technologies has been recognised as a Leader and Fast Mover in the GigaOm Radar Report for Cloud-Native Application Protection Platforms (CNAPPs).

The report evaluated 17 CNAPP solutions and identified Check Point as a Leader in the Innovation and Platform Play quadrant.

This recognition underscores the company's focus on prevention and a cohesive strategy for cloud security.

GigaOm analyst Chris Ray commented, "Check Point CloudGuard scored 5/5 on a number of features. The solution's comprehensive approach makes it valuable for securing cloud-native applications, managing cloud misconfigurations, and protecting against advanced threats in cloud environments. Its ability to integrate with DevOps processes makes it useful for organisations adopting DevSecOps practices."

Cloud-native application protection platforms (CNAPPs) are sets of technologies meant to address complex security challenges in modern cloud-native environments.

GigaOm's evaluation focused on various features that contribute to comprehensive cloud security.

Paul Barbosa, Vice President of Cloud Security at Check Point Software Technologies, expressed satisfaction with the recognition, stating, "With another accolade for our cloud security portfolio, we are proud that CloudGuard is recognised as a frontrunner and definitive Leader in GigaOm's CNAPP Radar report. Our leadership in this space highlights how CloudGuard enables organisations to innovate confidently, knowing they have comprehensive and scalable protection that adapts to their evolving needs."

The GigaOm report highlighted several notable features of Check Point CloudGuard, including its scalable cloud security.

The platform supports complex and growing cloud environments through enhanced collaboration across detection, response, and policy enforcement.

In terms of advanced threat detection and prevention, CloudGuard provides AI-generated remediation suggestions, including patches that can address multiple vulnerabilities at once, thereby improving efficiency in time-to-remediation.

Real-time API security is another key strength. CloudGuard continuously discovers APIs, performs targeted vulnerability and compliance tests, and utilises behaviour analysis for real-time monitoring to detect malicious activity.

In addition, CloudGuard offers seamless code security, ensuring that vulnerabilities are caught as early as possible, even in the developer's environment before entering the CI/CD pipeline, reducing the risk of deploying vulnerable code.

Check Point's 2024 Cloud Security Report indicated that 96% of respondents expressed concern over managing emerging cloud risks effectively, signalling a shift in perception from previous years.
