BlueVoyant has appointed John Hultman as Chief Revenue Officer as the cybersecurity company expands its product portfolio.

Hultman will oversee BlueVoyant's global revenue organisation, including sales and revenue operations. He will also work with the leadership team on go-to-market execution as the business pursues further growth.

His appointment follows what BlueVoyant described as a solid third quarter. In recent months, the company introduced a deployment service for Microsoft's Integrated Security Operations Centre in Microsoft Defender and continued developing BlueVoyant AI.

Hultman brings more than 30 years of technology sales experience across software-as-a-service, cloud and security. Most recently, he served as Chief Revenue Officer at data security company Druva, where he led global go-to-market strategy.

Before joining Druva, he led sales in the Americas at Cohesity. Earlier in his career, he spent nearly two decades at Dell EMC in a series of sales leadership roles across the Americas and APJC.

Leadership role

Hultman takes charge of a function BlueVoyant is placing at the centre of its next phase. The role covers the global sales organisation as well as revenue operations, giving him broad responsibility for commercial execution.

BlueVoyant operates across several areas of cyber defence, including Managed Detection and Response, Third-Party Risk Management and Digital Risk Protection. It also says it supports more than 2,500 customer deployments in Microsoft-native environments worldwide.

That Microsoft relationship has featured prominently in recent product activity. BlueVoyant recently launched a deployment solution designed to help enterprises adopt Microsoft's Integrated Security Operations Centre, adding to its existing work with Microsoft security products.

It is also advancing BlueVoyant AI, which it says includes tools for organisations seeking to adopt and govern AI agents across their environments. BlueVoyant describes it as part of its broader security operations platform.

Commenting on the appointment, John Hernandez, Chief Executive Officer of BlueVoyant, said, "John joins BlueVoyant at an important moment for the company. We've built a strong foundation, and his experience and perspective will be valuable as we continue to scale the business and deepen our customer relationships."

He added, "His focus on execution and customer success aligns closely with where we're headed, and he'll help us meet a market that's demanding exactly what BlueVoyant delivers."

Market backdrop

BlueVoyant's new Chief Revenue Officer takes up the role as many security buyers try to manage a growing number of tools, suppliers and points of exposure. Vendors across the sector are also positioning themselves around AI, both as a security challenge and as part of their own offerings.

Hultman referred to that broader market environment in his remarks on joining the company. "The cybersecurity landscape has reached an inflection point. Enterprises are dealing with growing complexity, fragmented security tooling and the need to move beyond detecting threats to taking action, not just inside their own walls but across their suppliers and everywhere their brand lives online," he said.

He also pointed to the company's approach across internal networks, supply chains and external digital exposure. "What drew me to BlueVoyant is its differentiated approach to that challenge, combining BlueVoyant AI with the human expertise to defend organisations inside their environment, across their supply chain and beyond the perimeter. The opportunity in front of us is significant, and this team is built to capture it."
