Bitdefender has announced the integration of its AI Scam Detector, Scamio, with WhatsApp in Australia. This new development enables Australians to utilise the popular messaging application to verify online scams and fraud instances efficiently.

According to the Global State of Scams 2023 Report, a significant 76 per cent of respondents reported encountering an online scam at least once a month. Scamio will then analyse the data and provide a verdict within seconds, alongside recommendations for any necessary further action. Additionally, Scamio can be saved as a contact on WhatsApp, functioning as a personal scam checker for individual users.
