Australian lecturer wins 2025 SAS Educator Award recognition

SAS has announced the recipients of the 2025 SAS Educator Award, recognising educators worldwide who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and leadership in promoting SAS software, AI, and data education.

Among the honourees is Jacky Mo, a Senior Lecturer specialising in Marketing and Data Analytics at the University of New South Wales, Australia.

Mo is distinguished for his efforts in integrating SAS software into his curricula, providing students with hands-on experience and advanced education in data analytics. His work focuses on behavioural decision-making utilising advanced analytical techniques.

Liz Moran, Director of Academic Programs and Certification at SAS, commented on the significance of these awards.

The accomplishment of these educators is marked by their integration of SAS tools into teaching and collaboration with SAS Global Academic Programs. Their contributions have not only enhanced their teaching practices but also inspired their academic communities. The recipients will be acknowledged for their achievements at a forthcoming event in Orlando, highlighting the global influence they possess in their respective fields.

Mo's recognition underscores the importance of advancing AI and data education in Australia. His efforts contribute to the upskilling and growth within the sector, ensuring that students are equipped with the necessary skills to navigate the current technological evolution.

The awards also acknowledge various other recipients across different regions. Agnieszka Kucharska from Warsaw University of Technology in Poland, Carlos Poza from Universidad Francisco de Vitoria in Spain, and Rénette Julia Blignaut from the University of the Western Cape in Africa have all been recognised for their respective contributions to integrating SAS technologies in their academic practices.

In the Americas, the awardees include Krzysztof Dzieciolowski from Concordia University in Canada, Vijayan Sugumaran from Oakland University in the United States, and José Aragão from Centro Universitário Farias Brito in Brazil.

Each has made significant contributions to their fields, particularly in promoting the use of AI and analytics.
