Arctic Wolf & AWS boost AI security with expanded Aurora Platform
Arctic Wolf has entered a new strategic collaboration agreement with Amazon Web Services aimed at scaling its Aurora Platform and advancing artificial intelligence-driven security operations.
The agreement will focus on developing Arctic Wolf's AI-powered Security Operations Centre (SOC) and enhancing security operations for over 10,000 customers worldwide. The Aurora Platform, built on AWS infrastructure, processes more than nine trillion security observations each week. It integrates with AWS security telemetry and supports the Open Cybersecurity Schema Framework (OCSF), enabling organisations to centralise and normalise data from AWS, software-as-a-service providers, and on-premises systems into a single data lake.
This centralisation of data provides real-time threat detection and response capabilities, helping organisations to reduce operational complexity and address critical security risks more efficiently.
Cloud capabilities
Commenting on the collaboration, Dan Schiappa, President, Technology and Services at Arctic Wolf, said:
"AWS technologies are critical to building one of the largest and most scalable security operations platforms in the industry. By leveraging their cloud infrastructure, we can deliver the Aurora Platform at massive scale, unify telemetry across diverse environments, and make security work for organisations everywhere. This collaboration is foundational to our ability to innovate and continue delivering one of the world's largest commercial SOCs while pioneering new ways of helping organizations stay secure."
The Aurora Platform provides a high-throughput environment that unifies telemetry from endpoints, cloud applications, identity systems, firewalls, and other sources. Powered by AWS infrastructure, it supports Arctic Wolf's AI-powered SOC and Alpha AI technologies. Alpha AI combines predictive and generative AI capabilities, informed by millions of hours of SOC experience and one of the largest sets of security telemetry data in the sector.
According to Arctic Wolf, Alpha AI reduces alert fatigue, expedites investigation workflows, and is designed to help analysts focus on high-priority threats, respond more rapidly, and improve decision-making both within Arctic Wolf's SOC and in customers' internal IT teams.
Customer perspectives
Custom Ink, one of Arctic Wolf's customers, highlighted the role of the platform in helping protect sensitive information and maintaining business continuity. John Peterson, Director of IT Operations & Security at Custom Ink, said:
"Our customers count on us to protect their ideas, designs and information, and that's central to how we do business. With Arctic Wolf tightly integrated with AWS, we get continuous monitoring across our cloud environments and can quickly detect and respond to threats. Having that confidence in our defences means our teams can stay focused on keeping the business running smoothly while ensuring our customers' data stays secure."
Scaling security analytics
From the perspective of AWS, the need for effective processing and analysis of security data at scale is greater than ever. Allison Johnson, Director of Americas Technology Partnerships at AWS, added:
"Today's threat landscape is growing increasingly complex, requiring solutions that can process and analyze data at scale. The collaboration between AWS and Arctic Wolf enables security organisations worldwide to centralize critical data and address emerging threats with greater speed and precision."
The collaboration aims to enhance scalability, flexibility, and data centralisation across different environments, helping organisations manage the growing complexity of cybersecurity challenges and derive more value from their security investments.
