Action1 unveils 'Patching That Just Works' for superior network security

Tue, 13th Feb 2024

Action1 Corporation, a provider of a risk-based patch management platform for distributed enterprise networks, is introducing significant updates to its platform with the unveiling of a new concept dubbed 'Patching That Just Works.' The Houston-based company's latest feature update aims to enable their customers to perfect their patching operations with an unparalleled degree of accuracy and reliability.

The aim of the 'Patching That Just Works' concept is to deliver a patch management solution that achieves a 99% success rate, addressing a gap in the industry for a highly reliable, user-centred solution. The concept is intrinsically linked to Action1's operational philosophy, substantiated by the company's consistent focus on user feedback in product development and an unwavering commitment to ensuring superior product performance.

In maintaining this commitment, Action1 states the company has a history of providing substantial quarterly updates to their platform, each embedding five to ten salient features drawn from widespread user feedback. The company has also executed advanced internal metrics and workflows specifically designed to maximise successful patch deployment, alienating disruptions to workflow. With this approach, Action1 has achieved an impressive 99% success rate in patch deployment, helping to mitigate vulnerabilities efficiently across managed endpoints.

Alex Vovk, CEO and co-founder of Action1, weighed on the objectives of the new concept. "With this new concept, we want to emphasize our 'power-focus' on patch management, as compared to check-the-box approach used by other vendors that include patching as a neglected feature in their overly broad solution sets that claim to do everything, but nothing in-depth," he said.

The latest updates to the platform offer a host of enhanced features, including direct access to audit trails, enhanced single reboot process, dynamic endpoint group enhancements for additional automation, improved single reboot efficiency, and an Okta integration for single sign-on (SSO), among others. The enriched features are fine-tuned to enable enterprises to automate Windows and third-party patching while bolstering accountability and security.

Timothy Shuart, Director of Information Technology at Hesston College, expressed his organisation's satisfaction with the new update. "As an educational organization, we greatly benefit from the recently added direct access to the audit trail, which enhances our accountability and empowers us to continually improve our patching workflows. We appreciate Action1's responsiveness in implementing our requested features. They introduce features that are truly necessary and impactful," he said.

Throughout the year, Action1 plans to introduce additional improvements to its platform with its primary product updates. The advancements set in motion will encompass a zero-knowledge architecture, an expanded selection of applications in the Action1 software repository, and the introduction of a Mac agent, among other enhancements.
