Rubrik & Cognizant launch BRaaS for rapid cyber recovery

Tue, 28th Oct 2025

Rubrik and Cognizant have expanded their partnership to deliver a subscription-based Business Resilience-as-a-Service (BRaaS) offering aimed at helping enterprises recover from cyber incidents and ransomware attacks.

The collaboration provides what both companies describe as a pay-as-you-go solution to enable organisations to restore normal operations rapidly after a cyber event, with an emphasis on aligning technology with key business priorities and outcomes.

Growing threat environment

Advancements in artificial intelligence have resulted in significant changes to organisational IT infrastructure, which is becoming increasingly distributed and complex.

This trend, driven by the need to accommodate AI-driven innovation and competitive advantage, broadens the potential attack surface for malicious cyber activity.

The rise in the frequency and sophistication of ransomware incidents is placing additional pressure on organisations to establish effective data protection and recovery protocols.

Highlighting the shifting threat landscape, Bipul Sinha, Chief Executive Officer, Chairman, and Co-founder of Rubrik said,

"The relentless pace of cyberattacks demands a fundamental shift from simple prevention to true resilience. Rubrik's expanded partnership with Cognizant and the introduction of our joint Business Resilience-as-a-Service model is that shift. Bringing together Rubrik's AI and security platform with Cognizant's global delivery scale, our joint customers can quickly recover from cyber incidents with confidence - all with a flexible, consumption-based model."

From recovery to resilience

The joint BRaaS offering aims to bridge the gap between traditional IT recovery and comprehensive business continuity planning.

By integrating recovery objectives directly with broader organisational goals, Rubrik and Cognizant intend to help clients minimise operational downtime and maintain ongoing customer trust, even when confronted with sophisticated attack vectors.

Ravi Kumar S, Chief Executive Officer at Cognizant, commented,

"Enterprises operate in an environment where cyber threats, compliance demands, and AI-driven change are all converging. Through our partnership with Rubrik, we're helping clients move from reactive recovery to proactive resilience. Cognizant's cloud and infrastructure domain knowledge, deep industry expertise, and cross technology stack integration, alongside Rubrik's leading security platform enable organisations to protect their most valuable data assets and accelerate growth securely in the AI era."

The two companies intend the expanded partnership to deliver a more industrialised solution to business resilience, targeting not only the ability to recover from incidents but also the need for ongoing compliance and operational continuity.

Technical integration and service promise

The BRaaS model combines Rubrik's cyber resilience platform with Cognizant's domain and industry expertise.

Through a unified framework, Cognizant will provide service delivery intended to streamline operations and progressively enhance resilience over time. The pay-as-you-go aspect is pitched as a cost-effective strategy for enterprises needing flexibility and scalability in the face of dynamic cyber risks.

The growing use of AI has introduced new operational risks, especially relating to data integrity and overall system security.

According to the companies, Rubrik's Agent Rewind technology is a feature enabling organisations to reverse the effects of harmful AI agent actions, supporting efforts to sustain resilience. Cognizant's Neuro AI platform offers solutions such as multi-agent orchestration and industry-specific tools, which are deployed on top of secured data estates.

The partnership seeks to ensure that customer data is protected throughout its lifecycle in the context of the increasing reliance on agentic AI technologies, while also providing the rapid recovery capabilities needed to address incidents if and when they arise.
