Prophet secures ISO 27001 certification for data security
Prophet has achieved ISO 27001 certification, marking a significant milestone in its data security and compliance commitment.
The certification represents a globally recognised standard for information security management systems (ISMS). It validates an organisation's policies and practices related to risk mitigation and ensures data confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The certification process involves a certified, independent third-party auditor.
Prophet, a platform based in Australia, underwent a thorough assessment and audit process over several months to meet the ISO 27001 requirements. This involved implementing a comprehensive framework encompassing policies, procedures, and structures in relation to people, processes, and technology.
The successful certification is an endorsement that Prophet has adopted a systematic and structured approach to information security, aligning with international best practices.
Jordan Taylor-Bartels, CEO and co-founder of Prophet, emphasised, "The achievement of the ISO 27001 certification is a significant leap forward in our continuous effort to raise the bar in secure and responsible data management. At Prophet, we are not just about adhering to standards; we are about setting them. We believe this certification is merely the beginning of our journey towards excellence in information security."
Taylor-Bartels added, "It gives our customers assurance that we are relentless in our efforts to protect their data against any threats and implement robust information security management systems, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data."
He further highlighted the increasing prevalence of data breaches, stating, "As data breaches become more and more common, the importance of knowing where and how data is stored cannot be overstated. Our customers' trust depends on our ability to protect their data with diligence. This certification is not just an accomplishment for Prophet; it's a promise to our customers; a promise of providing a secure, reliable, and locally managed data environment that they can trust."
Prophet has made it a priority to keep all its data onshore within Australia, aligning with concerns of data sovereignty among local businesses and individuals. Taylor-Bartels stated, "By keeping data within Australian borders, we are providing an extra layer of comfort and security for our clients – they know their data is protected by Australian privacy laws and regulations. It provides peace of mind to customers - they can rest assured knowing their sensitive information is stored in a jurisdiction that respects their privacy and right to data protection."
The company has differentiated itself from other technology platforms by focusing on building robust foundations for its platform from the onset rather than following typical minimal viable product-led strategies. This approach has provided Prophet with a dependable framework for delivering precise and actionable marketing intelligence.
Taylor-Bartels noted the advantages, "Marketers are drawn to Prophet because it transcends traditional analytics by unveiling intricate, often hidden relationships within data, enabling smarter, data-driven decisions. In an industry where precision can translate into billion-dollar shifts, Prophet's ability to eliminate guesswork and provide deep insights ensures marketers can manage media spending and brand investments more effectively, leading to higher profitability and competitive advantage. We are seeing strong growth momentum as a result."
Prophet is led by Taylor-Bartels, who previously worked as Global Operations and Marketing Lead at Hyperloop, and Sean Taylor, who serves as Executive Chairman. The company is supported by notable backers, including Antony Catalano, Matt Rockman, and Cheuk Chiang. The development team features individuals from prestigious institutions such as NASA, SpaceX, and Deloitte.
