NinjaOne launches new mobile device management capabilities

Wed, 3rd Jul 2024

NinjaOne has announced the launch of its new Mobile Device Management (MDM) capabilities, designed to support a broad range of devices, including iOS and Android platforms. This development aims to cater to both company-owned and personally-owned devices, addressing the needs of modern mobile workforce environments.

Data from the Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG) analyst firm indicates that approximately 70% of employees use four or more endpoint devices daily. Consequently, unmanaged mobile devices have increasingly become a significant point of vulnerability for organisations, expanding their attack surfaces and reducing overall productivity. The newly introduced MDM capabilities are designed to offer comprehensive control and visibility over these mobile devices to ensure they are configured correctly, compliant with organisational policies, secure, and functional.

Gabe Knuth, Senior Analyst at TechTarget’s Enterprise Strategy Group, commented, "Modern organisations run on endpoints, and as the number of mobile devices accessing corporate networks increases, it has become increasingly challenging for IT teams to properly manage and secure them. Organisations we advise are looking to reduce the number of tools they use and complexity within their tech stack. IT ultimately needs a comprehensive endpoint management solution that unifies every device to keep employees productive and to minimise risk."

NinjaOne states that its MDM empowers Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and IT teams to automate, control, and implement policies across a variety of mobile devices, including smartphones, tablets, and IoT devices, effectively enhancing consistency and efficiency in endpoint management while also improving security measures. The key benefits highlighted by the company include reduced complexity and costs, enhanced mobile device management and security, and increased productivity and satisfaction among end-users.

Ernie Turner, Director of IT at Vetcor, shared his experience with the new MDM capabilities: "Mobile devices are becoming a bigger part of how our employees work, but it is hard to keep track of, manage, and secure those devices. It’s our goal to set our team up with the technology they need to be their most productive, which is why we turned to NinjaOne for mobile device management."

"NinjaOne has saved our technicians time and resources by automating endpoint management and pulling all the devices we manage (servers, laptops, smartphones, etc.) into a single console. Now, we’ve freed up time to be more strategic business partners and we’re reducing the organisation's risk and attack surface."

The company emphasises that endpoint management is evolving as more employees use mobile devices for professional purposes. Sal Sferlazza, CEO and Co-founder at NinjaOne, stated, "Endpoints are constantly evolving, and more employees are using mobile devices for work than ever before, so it’s essential for the market to adapt to customers’ needs as working habits and endpoints change."

"Today, IT teams need to keep all mobile devices compliant, up to date, and secure to ensure their employees can do their best work. NinjaOne MDM consolidates the many different devices IT teams are managing into a single console, providing a simple way to improve security and productivity while freeing up time and resources."

With its new MDM capabilities, NinjaOne aims to mitigate the risks associated with mobile device usage in the workplace while enabling IT teams to maintain an efficient and secure work environment. The platform’s expanded features are designed to meet the evolving needs of modern organisations by offering a unified endpoint management system that covers a variety of devices and enhances overall security and productivity.
