FYI, this story is more than a year old

Accenture has been positioned as a leader in the latest IDC MarketScape: Asia Pacific Professional Security Services – Advisory, Assessment, and Awareness 2020 Vendor Assessment.

Accenture was recognised as having one of the most comprehensive security advisory and security assessment offerings under its professional security services that helps clients improve the efficiencies of security programs and alignment with the business, accelerating digital transformation and supporting what the firm refers to as the "Modern CISO" agenda.

According to clients' feedback, Accenture's deep technical knowledge, effective onboarding, accuracy, and response time are highly regarded by the organizations within the Asia Pacific region.

In addition, the report cited that Accenture's acquisition of Deja vu Security in 2019, a privately held company that specialises in security design and testing of enterprise software platforms and internet of things (IoT) technologies, is expected to strengthen the firm's capabilities for securing product development life cycle for connected solutions.

“Addressing cybersecurity challenges has never been more important than in times of crisis and it has been critical to evolve the security narrative from IT/cybersecurity to cyber resilience for our clients,” says Accenture Asia Pacific security managing directory Andrew McLauchlan.

“The next evolution is trust – which builds on good security posture, cyber-resilience but goes beyond, as it includes reliability, ethics, and privacy in addition to security. The IDC MarketScape acknowledges our strengths in the region and we look forward to building on this strong leadership position.

The report examined Accenture and 16 different vendors offering professional security services in the highly competitive and vibrant Asia Pacific market between 2019 and 2020. The participating organisations were meticulously evaluated using the IDC MarketScape model, which reviews the vendors' capabilities and strategies against an extensive list of scoring criteria and parameters.

These include the comprehensiveness of their offerings, portfolio benefits delivered, market execution, service delivery, customer experience, and customer satisfaction.

“IT organisations should work with professional security services providers to enhance the internal competence level of handling threats, vulnerabilities, and more importantly manage this strategic shift to ensure effective risk mitigation and boost the trust. After all, digital trust builds up the foundation of a strong cyberdefense and cyber-resilience," says IDC Asia Pacific services and security associate research director Cathy Huang.

Last month, Accenture was been positioned as a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Asia/Pacific Managed Security Services 2020 Vendor Assessment.

The report evaluates 19 organisations that offer managed security services (MSS) in the region against a broad set of parameters that define current market demand and expectation of MSS buyers.

These include a breadth of MSS offerings, portfolio benefits, threat life-cycle capabilities, cloud security, delivery model, cost management, market execution, geographic presence, thought leadership, innovation, customer satisfaction, and customer advocacy.
