Dynatrace named leader in 2024 Gartner Magic Quadrant

Thu, 15th Aug 2024

Dynatrace has been named a Leader in the 2024 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Observability Platforms. Gartner assessed 17 vendors in this category and ranked Dynatrace highest for both Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute.

This marks the 14th consecutive year that Dynatrace has received the Leader designation from Gartner. The announcement aligns with a positive financial report for the first quarter of the Fiscal Year 2025 and coincides with the five-year anniversary of Dynatrace's initial public offering (IPO).

Steve Tack, Executive Vice President and Chief Product Officer at Dynatrace, expressed his gratitude for the recognition. "We are honoured to be positioned furthest for Vision and highest in Execution in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Observability Platforms," he said. Tack added, "In today's complex cloud-native environments, the need for AI-powered observability and security, analytics, and automation capabilities is paramount. We believe Dynatrace's position as a Leader in this year's Magic Quadrant report reflects our commitment to being the observability and security platform of choice, underpinning the business transformation initiatives of the world's most successful companies."

In addition to its position in the Magic Quadrant, Dynatrace has also been recognised as a Customers' Choice for five consecutive years in the Gartner Peer Insights Voice of the Customer for Application Performance Monitoring and Observability Report, most recently in December 2023. This separate accolade highlights the positive feedback from Dynatrace's own customers and reinforces the company's standing in the industry.

The Gartner Magic Quadrant assessments are highly regarded in the technology sector, providing a snapshot of a company's positioning among its peers. These evaluations are based on a comprehensive analysis of a vendor's performance and future potential. The criteria include vision, execution capabilities, and customer feedback.

Gartner's research and recognitions, while influential, come with disclaimers. The firm's Peer Insights and Magic Quadrant reports are based on the opinions of individual end users and Gartner's own research divisions. These reports are not definitive statements of fact and are not intended to endorse any specific vendor, product, or service.

Dynatrace, named as Compuware from 2010 to 2014, has consistently maintained a leadership position in the observability space, evolving its offerings to meet the demands of modern, cloud-native technology landscapes. The company's emphasis on AI-driven analytics and automation has played a crucial role in its sustained success.
